Shopper : Will this work on the back of my Celestron cpc 800 telescope ?JIM P : No. Baader makes two sizes of adapters for 2" eyepiece adapters for SCTs. The one you ask about is the 3.25" for "large SCTs" made for Celestron 1100 and 1400. They make a 2" version that fits the electron 800 and 925. The latter is what you need for your 8" SCT.CHRIS D : There are two sizes available. Pretty sure you need the smaller one #2956220 SC / HD-Clicklock (6", 8", 9¼" SC and Edge HD) #2956233 SCL-ClickLock (11", 14" SC and Edge HD)
Bruce D : what is the clear aperture of this adapter?Roxanne K : 2" - can directly accept a 2" eyepiece, 2" camera t adapter a 2" diagonal.ANGELA B : The 'clear aperture' of this device is 2" - the outside diameter of a 2" ocular or the barrel of a 2" diagonal . The 3.25" threaded ring attaches the adapter to the back cell of my C11Edge with the appropriate threads. This adapter is intended only for SCTs with the 3.25" threaded ring; it will not fit my C8. I'm not sure the thread pitch will be compatible with a large Meade SCT . This adapter's main advantage, which I consider valuable, is the secure and convenient twist-lock gripping of a 2" diagonal, as opposed to the conventional Celestron set screw collar, which tends to rotate when using heavy eyepieces, potentially spilling your eyepiece and diagonal on the ground. That happened to me once, and I immediately bought this BP twist-lock adapter. It works very well, even with gloves on.JIM P : Well, it's 2 inches to accept 2 inch eyepieces. Designed to prove the super-easy quick release with minimal impact on optical path. I love their adapters and use them on all my scopes
