I got this eyepiece for my Celestron DX-102 Starsense telescope with upgraded star diagonal. I?m new to the hobby. The eyepieces that came with the scope are cheesy and this is a nice upgrade. The view is crystal clear. Really nice for star clusters. The Pleiades look great. I calculated the True Field of View as TFoV = (26 / 660) * 57.3 = 2.26 using the field stop diameter of 26mm given by the manufacturer. The little rubber eyepiece with light shield is nice, but it has to fold down to put the lens cap back on. Sometimes it comes off but it?s easy enough to put back on. I like that the cylinder end that goes into the scope is not indented so it slips in and out without getting stuck and shaking the scope off the target. More recently I also got a 25mm eyepiece with 62 degree FOV and was surprised it has a TFoV about the same as this, so even though I like this eyepiece I may sell it because I use it less than I did initially.

With an Explore Scientific 4 inch APO (with the better FCD 100 glass), I have been using 2 Televue eyepieces for high magnification, a Nagler 5mm and a Delite 3 mm with good results, atmosphere permitting. The Nagler especially give dramatic views of the moon at 142 times with the whole disc of the moon fitting into the field. The Baader Planetarium 6mm, even with it?s limited field, gives a somewhat brighter image with a better contrast especially noticeable on the lunar mare. Not a big difference but noticeable. There are no internal reflections -a slight (and I mean slight) problem with the afore mentioned Nagler with the brighter planets. I get a slightly yellow fringing on the lunar edge in the outer field of the Ortho but this is hardly an issue for me. Of course there is considerably less eye relief with the Ortho but nothing really that uncomfortable. For the price, 1/4 of the Nagler, the Ortho is definitely worth it. I would curious about the other Baader Planetarium Orthos.

I've been using this 6mm eyepiece with my Orion Skyquest 6" Dob to view Mars (resulting in 200x magnification). Sharp, bright image throughout the field, no "kidney-bean" issues. Good angular field for planetary study. Enough brightness to let me use all my filters to tease out fine details. With the appropriate filter I thought I even glimpsed Olympus Mons one night. Compact design and very lightweight. The eyeshield is especially useful for blocking out glare from the nearby streetlight. Now I'm seriously considering the 4mm version to use on nights with the best seeing.

Only slight delay in shipment, did arrive intime as today lunar eclipse! Checked evening and moon fits easily in eyepice. Nice image in my modest Celestron 4SE Mak Telescope. Is a Plossl, my first Baader, not disappointed at all! These are possibly being discontinued, if you want one don't delay!

Baader eyepiece

Great eyepiece
Are you in search of a comprehensive and high-quality eyepiece set for your telescope The Baader Q-Turret Eyepiece Set is a remarkable solution, offering a blend of precision, versatility, and convenience. This set is a collection of four 1.25" eyepieces, a Barlow lens, an eyepiece revolver, and a protective storage box.
Unlike the standard eyepiece sets that come with many telescopes, this set stands out for its superior quality and performance. It combines the clarity and sharpness of four distinct eyepieces, delivering an experience akin to Zoom-eyepieces. The eyepiece revolver facilitates effortless switching between four different magnifications, enhancing your stargazing or astrophotography sessions.
When not in use, the eyepieces and the revolver can be detached as a single unit from your telescope and stored in the provided padded box. This feature eliminates the need for additional storage space near your telescope, making it a practical choice for night-time observations.
The set includes a 32mm Plossl eyepiece, which offers the widest field of view possible with 1.25" eyepieces. Additionally, the three Orthoscopic eyepieces deliver high contrast even at the highest magnifications. The included Barlow lens complements the eyepieces by filling in the gaps and avoiding duplicate magnifications, ensuring a comprehensive range of viewing options.
In summary, the Baader Q-Turret Eyepiece Set is a versatile and high-quality addition to your telescope accessories, designed to enhance your viewing and photography experiences.
