I had read a few review about the Baader Q-Turret. Many reviewers thought that its plastic construction was detrimental because that it seemed that it was flimsy. Upon receiving the turret, I inspected the turret and found it to be a useful accessory. I do astro imaging. When I want to align my Nexstar telescope, I want a great alignment, but I disliked swapping out eyepieces to get the alignment done. It meant I had to release the screw to loosen the collar on my diagonal to take out one eyepiece and insert another and then tighten it down. Now, with the Turret, I can insert two eyepieces and just turn the turret to put a new eyepiece in the optical train. I can also attach a camera, use one eyepiece to see the object I want to image in focus with the camera and then another eyepiece with crosshairs to center it and then turn the camera into the light path to take an image. While the turret is plastic, is is well made. There are no other turrets in the market. Van Slyke is out of business and expensive, Celestron turrets are hard to find and Borg turrets are hard to find too. TEC turrets are very expensive. The Baader is cheap but well made and provides the ability to change eyepieces and cameras without having to take out and insert accessories. 5 stars!
