Consideration for the focus position of the guiding camera is made effortless with the Off-Axis Guider. When used with a guiding camera positioned at the upper end, the image plane is approximately 24mm behind the BFM II's T-2 threads. Devices like a CCD camera or the Polaris I crosshair eyepiece can be adjusted for proximity using a VariLock 29.

For setups requiring additional back focus, such as DSLR cameras or eyepiece clamps, the DT-4 nosepiece extension offers an 18.5mm overall length, accommodating a variety of cameras to be parfocal with the imaging camera.
