The Solar Continuum Filter operates as a monochromator, effectively suppressing atmospheric turbulence effects and providing significantly sharper images. It's optimized for the spectral range around 540nm, where the human eye is most sensitive, and where lens systems, including those of apochromats, catadiopters, or eyepieces, work most sharply and with the highest contrast.

This narrowband filter blocks all but the most optimal spectral range, enhancing image quality on achromatic lens telescopes, apochromatic telescopes, catadioptric systems, and even pure mirror systems by reducing air turbulence. As a monochromatic filter, it's perfectly suited for use on monochromatic cameras, and can even provide a significant boost on pure color systems.

While it's less effective with color cameras, as only the green pixels are used, you'll still benefit from the improved image sharpness of a telescope optimized for green wavelengths and the reduction of air turbulence influences. However, with a color camera, the full potential of the better image quality compared to monochrome cameras can't be fully exploited due to the effectively reduced camera resolution.

This filter boasts a half-band-width of only 7.5nm, an improvement over the previous model's 10nm, enhancing contrast even further.
