For astrophotography enthusiasts and stargazers, the Baader MPCC Mark III - Multi Purpose Newton Coma Corrector is an essential tool for enhancing the quality of celestial images. This coma corrector is specifically designed for Newton telescopes, ensuring that the focal length and image field of your telescope remain unaltered. Large parabolic mirrors are ideal for Deep Sky imaging due to their ability to deliver a vast field and enable short exposure times. However, off-axis coma and residual astigmatism can distort off-axis stars into "comet" shapes, effectively reducing the usable field. While many companies offer lens systems to counteract coma, these often increase the original focal length and reduce the field of view. The Baader MPCC Mark III stands out by eliminating coma across the full photographic field without manipulating the focal length. Its proprietary lens design features the Phantom Group wideband multicoating on all air-to-glass lens surfaces. This advanced coating ensures the highest transmission combined with the lowest amount of scatter and reflections, covering a wide spectral range from UV to NIR. While the original MPCC was designed for an f/ratio of f4.5 to f6, the Mark III model performs exceptionally well even down to f3.5. Stars remain pinpoint sharp across the field, and visual use is significantly enhanced with the help of the 2" (M48) male filter thread at the eyepiece facing side. The MPCC III is designed to be the most versatile coma corrector on the market today. It fits into every 2" focuser and is compatible with CCD-filter wheels and off-axis guiders from various manufacturers. With the optional T-Spacer (# 245 8405), you can couple the Mark III directly to the Baader Protective Canon DSLR adapter, with or without various filters mounted. The MPCC MIII Version is suitable for both visual and photographic use and includes the following parts as detailed in the common description for the MPCC above.
