It is interesting to me that most of the bad reviews mention another product. Could it be it's easy to post a review as a competitor to bash, only? I have this product and it's the fastest, lightest coolest notebook I've every used or even seen. I am in technology and see all of it. This notebook gets a second look because people expect it's an Apple, but far better (with high def and touchscreen!) I use this as my travel system. I love this, but as another poster said, I installed Start8 for the Windows 7 programs, control panel etc look at feel ..just swipe to windows 8 metro if you want. Best machine in its class. Look at professional reviews -- the reason I bought this.

I gave it a one star because providing rating is mandatory and I have to give some star rating. There are several things bad about the laptop, some of the larger ones 1) Bad keyboard - Very low clearance makes is difficult to type, anyone who has used IBM/Lenovo or MacBook Pro would know what a good keyboard should be like 2) Bad Battery - Battery was good (about 5-6 hrs) when the laptop was new, as I started using the laptop,the battery life declined gradually and within few weeks it was reduced to zero, basically died. This happened not once but twice, it shows the quality of components used in this laptop 3) Gets hot very soon I bought this laptop after reading numerous reviews such as Anandtech, this is an expensive laptop almost on the range of X1 Carbon or Macbook pro. Having used both X1 and Macbook pro, I would call this laptop a piece of Junk. I guess the only reason why this laptop got good reviews is due to the fact that the tests are done only for a short duration, may be maximum of a week. If it had been tested for more than few weeks, they would have also classified this laptop as Junk. Just for records, I sent this laptop 3 times to the repair center, except for Motherboard, display and keyboard, everything else was defective. This laptop spent more time in the repair process than with me. Finally I decided to get rid of it because ACER does not care about Customers hardship, they prefer to have the customer ship the laptop again and again instead of replacing it. Simple advice, stay away from this laptop

I only gave this model two stars because it is a solid, fast, and powerful machine. However all of that is overshadowed by the poor quality keyboard. The keys are loose feeling and often take multiple hits to register. Especially the space bar. I tried several different machines and they all had the same problem. I would not recommend this machine.

I have two minor complaints: the glass lid edge is square and not easy to get hold of for opening. The other is that there is no caps lock indicator which may be from W8. I much prefer W7 and have installed Start8 which is a great help.

After just 4 months of usage, the laptop broke and I had to send it to acer for service. Being previous owner of Dell and Sony laptops, this is a first time my laptop broke after such short time. Currently still being serviced, very disappointed !!!!
