While the ThunderBox Four Port PCIe 3.0x4 Expansion Box may seem like a simple piece of hardware, it is a powerful tool designed to enhance and expand your workstation's capabilities. This PCIe 3.0 expansion box, specifically designed for the Accusys T-Share series, comes equipped with four PCIe 3.0 ports. This not only broadens your system's capacities but also amplifies the number of PCIe/Thunderbolt 3 hosts when connected to an Accusys T-Share RAID enclosure.
The ThunderBox offers a multitude of workflow combinations tailored to your specific needs. Whether you're looking to expand your workgroup from four workstations to a maximum of 16, or need to create a versatile environment that can simultaneously operate different systems such as MAC, Windows, and Linux, the ThunderBox has you covered.
One of the common challenges faced by most Thunderbolt 3 users is the limited length of the Thunderbolt 3 cable, typically only 2 meters. The ThunderBox PCIe 3.0 expansion box, however, utilizes a QSFP cable that can extend up to a maximum length of 100 meters, effectively eliminating this limitation.
For Linux users who face restrictions accessing Thunderbolt 3 storage due to kernel restrictions, the ThunderBox provides a simple solution. By adding an Accusys HBA card to your host and connecting it with the ThunderBox PCIe port, you can easily share your data with others on the same Accusys T-share storage.
The A12T3-Share originally contains four Thunderbolt 3 ports and one PCIe 3.0 port. With the ThunderBox expansion, the number of PCIe 3.0 co-editing users can increase to three, and Thunderbolt 3 co-editing users can increase to four.
Experience the speed of Thunderbolt 3 and expand your workstation numbers with the ThunderBox. By connecting the PCIe ports between the ThunderBox and A12T3-Shares, you can enable up to 16 workstations to work together and access the same volume. This setup allows for optimal storage performance and a superior work experience.
