Good desktop...overall perfect for normal use. If you could, spend a little more to get the solid state or fusion drive.

I would definitely recommend this product to others. I liked that it linked up my iPad and iPhone right away without really prompting it. All the information transferred to my Mac including contacts, usernames and passwords for all my cites. I also love the size of the monitor and the quality of the pictures. The only thing I disliked is that in Apps it didn’t have an app for Facebook and some of my other applications that I use.

Never used a mac previously, 30 years on PCs. Very pleased and impressed with all features. Took some getting used to, but after a few days I really like using the Mac much better. Its very user friendly and I love its compatability with my iphone.

Still getting used to the differences on the iMac keyboard versus a PC's. Every day I learn something new. Amazed at just how fast it is compared to my old Dell.

We purchased this for my wife's photography business as an editing workstation. We were worried about this not having enough power to handle her heavy usage compared to a mac pro tower. This imac does not dissapoint. I upgraded to an SSD drive and added 16GB of ram to included 4GB and the machine runs quite a bit faster. Out of the box though, we were tentative about performing the upgrades just because we didn't know if we needed them. The machine was so speedy to boot, load programs and do all of her editing tasks that we may not have even upgraded it if we hadn't already ordered the parts. That being said, I am glad we did perform the upgrades, the machine is even more capable of working for her now. The overall product has the excellent user experience of a mac, you start it up and just works, no issues, everything runs fast and without a hickup. The display is absolutely massive, and the workspace provided by the amount of resolution is perfect for her. Honestly, there is so much room on the screen that you can loose the mouse from time to time. With this, you are basically buying a really nice mac workstation, and they throw in the best consumer monitor money can buy for free. I know that a mac pro can be upgraded with more storage and processors, but for most moderate duty photographers who aren't doing video, this is pretty much the sweet spot.

I understand that Apple wants to save $, but not to provide OS installation discs is not cool at all. From my experience, all computers will crash sometime for various reasons, and the best and cleanest way to take care of it is to re-formate and reinstall the OS and apps.

if you need a great, fast computer, this is not the ONLY ONE. You can also have a PC for a cheaper price. If you really need a great IPS Panel (great display), big, bright, good colors for photo and video editing you might wanna buy an apple. It may be cheaper overall than buying a good pc and a great display same size like this one (27") with the same quality. The display is not perfect (light stronger on the bottom or edges but the colors are great. Also all in one using for beginning one wire - the power cord.

The iMac is a great entry-level machine for both photo editing and regular computer use. It handles RAW files in Aperture and Photoshop with ease, and the screen looks great. Calibration is a must with any monitor, but the iMac screen looks pretty nice out of the box.

The 27-inch iMac Desktop Computer MC813LL/A from Apple is a sleek All-in-One computer with a stunning 16:9 HD display. When all you see is the display, nothing gets between you and what's onscreen. The more pixels a display has, the more light those pixels need to achieve the best picture possible. And that's exactly what the LED backlighting in iMac does: It pushes light through each pixel with remarkable brightness and efficiency. Because the LED backlight doesn't take up much space, the iMac enclosure stays thin - even with all the high-performance components inside. The 27-inch iMac features 2560-by-1440 HD resolution. It was a great idea then and it's a great idea now.
The All-in-One design of the first flat-panel iMac cleaned up the desktop. It put everything you need - display, processor, graphics card, hard drive, optical drive, memory and more - inside one simple enclosure. Today, iMac is the gold standard for an All-in-One desktop computer.
While you'll find a collection of ports on the back of iMac, you won't find much else. A seamless, precision-forged enclosure makes the back one continuous aluminum surface. And there's only one cord: the power cord.
The widescreen iMac display allows more room to separate the two hottest components, the CPU and the GPU. This keeps things cool inside the iMac enclosure. Apple engineers also implemented an intelligent control system that monitors temperatures and delivers just the right amount of airflow to critical components. And the three fans inside iMac have been tuned to be ultraquiet, so you hardly know it's on.
iMac comes with a wireless keyboard and either a Magic Mouse or a Magic Trackpad - your choice. With Magic Mouse, you get a mouse unlike any other. Its smooth, seamless design lets you control everything with simple gestures. But if you're all gestures all the time, then opt for Magic Trackpad. Its touch-friendly all-glass surface gives you plenty of room to scroll, swipe, pinch and rotate to your fingers' content.
