A PC User's Perspective
I have always been an advocate for PC and have used Windows for the most part of my life. I decided to go with a Macbook this time because I wanted to learn programming. Yes, I could have continued to use my current laptop to program but I heard that MacOS has everything you need already built in.
Build Quality:
In terms of the build quality, this Macbook Pro is absolutely stunning. The aluminum finish is the best in the market. The laptop still carries some hefty weight and you will eventually start getting grummy hand marks on the laptop. This can be cleaned though with a clean piece of microfiber cloth. I highly recommend buying a keyboard cover for this marvel.
What I didn't like though was the placement of the speakers. I constantly keep getting dust in the tiny holes which I can't seem to get out now without compressed air.
Sound quality wise, yes these speakers can get pretty loud. But it doesn't seem to have the bass power that every reviewer out there raves about.
I absolutely love the fingerprint scanner. It is so fast to sign in as compared to typing out a password.
The touchbar isn't really necessary. I tried playing with it, and it does feel nice to touch, but I rarely use it other than to change the screen brightness and the sound.
The keyboard is something out of this world. It is very nice for short burst typing but long term, I am not sure if this is a good choice. The key's travel distance needs some time to get used to.
As for USB-C, it hasn't been a problem for me. I just bought some adaptors (not dongles) and never had a problem.
Software:
Not used to it at first. There is definitely a difference between Windows and MacOS but each has their pros and cons. What I definitely didn't like though was the lack of window snapping. Windows is amazing for this but window management in the macos is horrendous at first. I had to download an app to enable snapping features which was already present in windows.
This laptop is blazingly fast! I haven't used it for video editing (yet) but just opening softwares is very quick.
Price:
Yes the price is large. But you are paying for premium that will last you for a long long time. If you have a macbook 2015 or 2014, perhaps wait until the new macbook 2017 comes out with its new intel processors. If you want a macbook bad and don't have a macbook currently, I highly recommend getting the 2016 macbook pro. It's amazing!

Great laptop!
I dumped Windows in 2013 with my first Mac, a MacBook Air. and I never turned back. The reason is the Apple ecosystem in place and the integration with all of my Apple devices and of course the quality that comes associated them. And I like MacOS way better than Windows 10.
The MacBook Pro with Touchbar's butterfly keyboard and touchbar will get a little bit of getting used to. You have to get used to the touchbar by making sure to look at it because there are useful events that display, depending on the app you are in. I think it'll get better. I love the screen and the sound for a laptop is amazing. I won't complain about the new USB-C only ports as I don't have a lot of devices needing to connect to it. Just a Logitech MX Master mouse via the USB dongle connected to Apple's USB-C to USB adapter. No biggie. Overall, this is an excellent laptop and I have absolutely no regrets, ok, maybe the price but you get what you pay for.
