I am upgrading from a 2013 MacBook Pro Retina model with 512GB storage. I waited a while thinking that this was not as much of an upgrade and my 2013 model was fine except I needed 1TB. I took the plunge and am very glad I did. The screen, touch bar and new touchpad all make this a huge improvement. I even like the keyboard better and find that I miss it when using other machines. USB-C is a bit of a cost to get up to speed, but is mostly a one time cost once you have one of each cable and there are plenty of options now (in May 2017). I do like being able to charge from either side, but do miss the magsafe connector.

Used 2011 Mac Pro until now, and 7 years for a laptop with each OS improving applications response, cant beat that. This one is really a very nice upgrade and hope it is useful for another 7 years...

Great build quality and fast. TouchID is great! Touch Bar is a neat feature but I haven't adjusted to looking at it on a semi-regular basis so it hasn't felt very useful yet.

Is really very, very thin and light, its a beautiful machine, best Mac I ever had. faster and awesome display. Cons: I expected more battery time, and the Touch Bar is awesome but is quite annoying because you keeping accidentally hitting the Escape and Siri Button all the time, and I didn't find it a way to fix this or disable them. Hope Apple fix that in next upgrade!

I got this for mainly development but a couple days before I got it my wife's laptop died, so I ended up loaning this to her for half of the day and she loves it. I was a bit skeptic about the new led bar, but it is actually a great little add-on and the touchId is the bomb

I would highly recommend this product those those who are weary about the touchbar. I went all out on the specs except for the hard drive as I could use an external if needed. The only issues I have are with apple's design to not have it easily opened up to change memory/upgrades. It was definitely a giant leap of changes to overcome with all these upgrades for me but I highly recommend it AND don't forget to get those dongles, there's a USB-C to ethernet, USB-C to multiple legacy ports (hdmi, SD card, USB 2 & so on). The only other thing to consider is an external CD/DVD drive as it becomes harder to install software that comes on a disc.

This looks positively designer next to my Dell Latitude. The space grey adds to its sleek, modern look. Can't say I miss the glowing logo. Its thin, well built and has a fantastic screen. Keyboard is great, but takes some getting used to. Can potentially type faster, and key press feels great even though key travel is limited. Keyboard backlight is done quite nicely, no bleed. The speakers are amazing for a laptop. Hands down, one of the best speakers, not considering the huge gaming laptop which presumably might have large speakers. Touch ID is deceptively convenient, whether to login, or purchase, or use apps like 1Password. Fantastic! Saving the most novel feature for last, touchbar is not a game changer at least currently. But its definitely useful. Many apps have been updated for touchbar use. MS Word has some nice handy controls for quick access. Volume and brightness controls are a cinch. One will need to deliberately use the touchbar to appreciate its usefulness. Else it may easily get forgotten, especially for experienced Mac users who are familiar with shortcuts. Bottomline is, in typical Apple fashion, its well implemented and works without a hitch. You just need to apply it to use, which may not happen naturally. All in all, its a great machine. I got a great deal with Adorama, so I can't complain that its expensive.

Very happy not just with the good price of the MacBook but also with the customer service. My product was here in a matter of just a couple of days. I'll recommend Adorama to friends and family.

Computer is great. Nice and fast. The touch bar shows great potential. Interested to see how developers use that space moving forward. The whole process was very simple and straight forward. It shipped right away.

Big upgrade from my 10 year old iMac. Very fast and superb picture quality. Initially I was hesitant downgrading from a 20 inch to 15 inch screen. But the smaller display hasn't bothered me.

Bought this to replace an aging iMac and am very pleased. Really like the Touch Bar and TouchID functionality. Also haven't found the conversion to USB-C to be too painful. I bought a new lightning cable and a USB Micro-B to USB C cable; I'm now able to use iPhone and iPad and my external hard drive just as with my old iMac.

Firstly, the deals Adorama have are great. Buying this from Adorama saved me greatly on tax, the computer was heaviliy discounted as well as the AppleCare. I would 100% recommend to all my friends and family for future Apple purchases. I upgraded from a 2012 MacBook Pro 15" Retina and I was worried about loosing the HDMI and USB ports but I don't end up using them often anyways. The USB C ports really don't bother me that much. I actually like the uniform look of the ports. Yeah its a gripe you have to have dongles but in actuality the average user isn't constantly plugging in things to their laptops anyways. The absence of Magsafe is a little annoying but I like how the Mac can be charged on either side. I'm surprised how quickly it charges and despite the battery being a quarter smaller than before I'm actually seeing better battery life then my 2012 MacBook Pro 15" Retina even having it replaced recently. The fans rarely run and for the common user who spends most of their time on the internet or in word or who likes to play the occasional basic video game (Sims 4) I think it goes above and beyond than what is really needed. I wish the SSD was upgradeable. I'm sure eventually the 256GB will not be enough. I've resorted to having my 256GB iPhone 7 Plus back up to iCloud now so thats not a big deal to me paying $3 mo for 200GB of storage. I think that justifies versus paying the additional $400+ for a slightly faster processor and the 512GB SSD. Overall, I love this computer. It's my 3rd Mac Book Pro and won't be my last. I do wish the space gray finish didn't chip up around the edges but I'd also highly recommend a matte clear skin to get for the device to help with scratches. It'll also help your resale value down the line. Hope my ran helps someone. Hopefully this helps you with your next or first Mac purchase!

I wasn't sure about all this new features like the massive touch-pad, new keyboard and the touch-bar and after using it for a couple of weeks I can say that the only thing I’m still not sure is the touch-bar. Love the new keyboard, its much more quite and smooth to type once you get used to the change. I also like the ginormus touch-pad, I’m not sure how necessary it was make it that huge but I gotta say its nice to use and I like the fact that there is a lot of surface. The touch-bar, I have mixed feeling about it - sometime its comfortable to have good old fashion keys and I’m not too fond of the extra step to control the volume and such but on the other hand when there is app support its kinda cool and useful… but all and all its kinda of ehaha. Bottom line if wouldn’t need ( an accident with my old one ) to change it I wouldn’t but since I needed to get a new one for my work I’m happy I this version. Adorama were great and very accommodating and super fast.

This Mac is solid, well-built, and as lightweight as possible. The screen is perfect, and the entire machine (15') is just the perfect size. I use this machine at work by placing it on the desk and plugging in the USB-C digital media adapter, leaving the lid still closed. MacOS of course handles the unlocking and sleep functions perfectly... when it's time for a meeting, I just unplug the one plug and go. Functionally, the touch-bar and finger print sensor are useful evolutionary updates to the Mac, but I don't normally use them when I'm at my desk at work. This is one expensive piece of kit, but it's like driving a BMW M-series, or any other high-performance hardware. You get what you pay for, and this laptop smokes my company-provided Windows laptop.

I purchased the MacBook Pro 15" with touchbar to replace my previous MacBook Pro 17" laptop. The much reduced size will make travel easier. It worked well with the recommended LG Ultrafine 5G Display, with it's extra USB-C ports on the back. I like that on the MB Pro there are so many Thunderbolt 3 ports, and am happy to move quickly into the future of peripherals. Adapters are needed to use some of my older peripherals for now, but I will be replacing them before too long, and am happy not to have the old style ports taking the place of so many of the new ones, which I will need and want moving forward. So far, with adapters, no trouble using older Firewire 800, eSata, and USB devices.

It's restored my already undying faith in Apple products, makes MacOS shine, synced and slid right into line with everything else. Buy this and buy it from Adorama.

The new MBP is pretty good overall. It's fast and it's slick looking. I like the larger trackpad. Sierra is good, overall, with a few bugs here and there. I'll focus on the things that could use improving: Crashes, restarts and freezes. My MBP crashes and restarts every time it goes to sleep. In a week, I've had the screen freeze and require a hard restart twice. Dongles. I've already spent ($) on dongles just so I can use my current monitor, thunderbolt audio interface and USB devices. RAM. It's pretty easy to hit the hard memory limit with only 16GB of RAM. The touchbar is more of a gimmick and not really more useful than F-keys. Overall, I'd recommend, but with a few caveats. Most of my negative impressions of the machine were known limitations. Solid service from Adorama and the best price on the internet.

the new MacBook Pro 15" with touch bar is everything I was hoping for and more. My battery lasts a solid 8 hours of regular work (web browsing, email and word processing) and I love how small it is. I would recommend it.

I was a little concerned while reading reviews of the latest Macbook Pro with Touch Bar, but after playing around with it for a couple of weeks and using my normal Adobe CC programs on it, I couldn't be any more satisfied. Will be doing more messing around with the macbook in the next couple of months.
