not disappointed at all
I ordered my Mac Pro 3x. Twice from Apple, changed my mind due to all the negative reviews and the prospect of an updated Mac Pro coming out soon. Then stories came out that the new one might be delayed until late this year, or early next.
Finally I bit the bullet and found the deals here, for less. My old mac air was too small for my continued needs for videos, etc. and now I am using FCPX. This 13" fully loaded mac pro with touch bar is great. Runs Final Cut almost as well as my fully loaded 5k, 32 gb ram, fusion drive, imac.
I cut back my order to half a terabyte and added a 1 terabyte ssd. Got the new cal digit Tuff ssd. The perfect combo. I go flawlessly from Mac Pro to iMac 5k, and even to my macbookair, transferring and working on files, in minutes.
I think the touch bar is a great innovation and I hope Apple sticks with it. I see that more and more apps are beginning to make use of it. I don't know why all the fuss from the elitists. I hardly ever used the old function keys. Now I find myself wishing I had the tb on all my computers (rumor is it may come to the iMacs)
Yes, Apple made a few compromises in this new MBP, but it is still a powerful and useful machine. Some of these compromises resulted in a light, but solid, smaller package. The only negative I see so far, is battery life. It seems to go fast. However, I am using FCPX a lot, and it takes a lot of juice to do what it does, amazingly fast. I guess it isn't fair to compare to my 11" mbair battery life. A great little notebook, but very limited.
Bottom line: I hate windows (which I still have to use on another laptop) and this is a great and portable Apple system machine, that I get to enjoy now.

I absolutely love the Laptop. It's everything I expected: powerful, small, light, and it's also stylish. I thought the touchbar was a bit gimmicky, but after using it for a few days I wish every Mac had the same capability. Truly my favorite Mac now, and I have several.

Beautiful, silent, fast, and light. Satisfied.
Love this product and now after spending some time with it the touch bar is great. I weighed getting it without the touchbar and now that it's been in use it adds so much more to the UX. I want to touch the sceeen. Looking forward to the touch bar being even more powerful.

Excellent laptop!
Top-drawer business/hobbyist laptop. Apple has outdone itself with this machine. All apps work perfectly. No problem driving a large display as well. Couldn't be happier!

don't like the keyboard or touchbar
i'm overall disappointed in this thing, but there are definitely some positives. i love how much smaller it is than my 2012 MBP. that one feels huge and clunky in comparison. the screen and sound are also much better
the main area where i was disappointed was in the power/memory. i got the 16gb 3.3ghz model, assuming i'd start maxing out on ram in a year at the earliest. nope, it was in a week. i couldn't believe i got the stupid beachball a week after buying the most powerful new laptop that apple makes. all i had open were about 10 chrome tabs and a couple pdfs.
so far the touchbar has only been useful for emojis. it's a little annoying for changing the sound and brightness, and i haven't discovered any other uses for it yet. but presumably that'll change over time
