While the new Early 2019 iMacs pack quite a punch, especially when configured with an 8-core i9 CPU, the iMac Pro still offers features the iMac does not: - Xeon CPU with more cache - Vega 56 GPU (Vega 48 is currently the highest configurable option on the 2019 iMac 27) - T2 Security Chip - Significantly better speakers (really, there is a big difference) - ECC Memory - Faster storage + RAID0 configurations - SD UHS?II Card Reader, up to 2TB - 1080p Webcam - Additional/better microphones - 4 ThunderBolt 3 ports - 10 gig Ethernet - Space Gray finish + accessories I'm sure the multicore GeekBench 4 scores on the 8-core i9 iMac will be every bit as good, and possibly better than the Xeon W in the base iMac Pro, but as seen above, there are numerous other features included in the Pro. Both are excellent machines, but if you need the performance this is currently the best option in my opinion.

So far it’s the best iMac I’ve owned. Not a moment of buyers remorse. I do a lot of computationally heavy mathematical models and the base iMac Pro model handles it like it’s adding two numbers. Highly recommended if it’s in your budget and you work with a lot of number crunching.

After a dizzying amount of research, at this point in time, this is the most appropriate computer and configuration for me. Unfortunately, this is a built to order purchase on the Apple Store. That means one cannot just drop in to your local Apple brick and mortar and walk out with the configuration you need. Wait time for my configuration of choice was 3-4 weeks as of when I was ready to buy. I usually enjoy online comparison shopping, but in this case, there was really no comparison. Adorama was the only vendor claiming availability of my specific configuration for delivery within 3 business days.With all of the combination and permutation possibilities for configuring an iMac Pro, I was skeptical that any online vendor would have my specific unit in stock. I took the leap and placed the order. Much to my pleasant surprise, the ordering process, the delivery, and finally the iMac Pro itself proceeded flawlessly. This was all accomplished at a discounted price, Apple Care+, and tax free to boot. This represented a true cost saving. My experience with this purchase was absolutely wonderful.

I was having trouble playing my 4k Video smoothly with lots of effects applied on my MacBook Pro 2017 max configuration, even with Smart Rendering turned on. Upgrading to this iMac Pro solved the problem, and the video now plays smoothly.

Ridiculously fast & solid machine. A bit pricey but look at what you get! This was the machine we all wanted Apple to build for us for video, AR, photography, 4K , 8K , graphics geeks. Think of ROI Microsoft is trying with Surface Pro but this is far better in terms of hardware, OS , and software. End of debate. Thanks Cupertino

It was time for a new system and Adorama's price is what made my decision. We had already decided on the new iMac Pro, but it was a question of which model. Based on the performance upgrade from our previous Mac and the pricing and customer service from Adorama, we bought the base model. We have been very happy and the performance is excellent. The display is amazing as well. We will continue to make our purchases from Adorama.

To many bugs in this design, my 2014 retina iMac is faster and does not give me spinning wheel on iPhoto . Also a handful of my legacy software would not load on the iMac pro running the same is system. Key board and mouse Bluetooth disconnect and stop working in middle of projects making you have to close out via the one still working, real Pain. Last of all this computer runs hot, even in sleep mode. I return it for a refund.

As a high res camera user it's speed is a great improvement over my 10 year old iMac. Both for video and still photography users it's great when editing. The image on the lcd is incredible for detail and color.

I have been eyeing the IMAC PRO since they came out and when Adorama had them on sale + 0% financing it was time to pull the trigger. I have found the machine to be nothing short of outstanding. It plows through anything you throw at it and it stays whisper quite. I had 2 thunderbolt displays that I hooked up with Apple adapters and it works seamlessly. I bought a Caldigit T3+ and this allows all the connectivity I could ever use. Overall, I am very impressed with the IMAC Pro. I bought the 8 core with the 2TB SSD. I'm tired of being limited by disc space and this fits the bill with some insane read and write speeds. What can I say - you can't go wrong with this machine. I plan on keeping it for the next several years and should serve me well. You can't go wrong with with the IMAC Pro - it just works and crushes anything you throw at it.

Sometimes Apple's displays can exhibit some bleed around the edges so I was a little worried when I first ordered this but wow - managed to get one with a perfect screen. There's nothing this machine can't power through and I highly recommend the 64GB of RAM (128 is a bit overkill) and the 2TB internal drive. Also - I chose the 10-core because it had the highest Turbo Boost speed - something that's very important for when you're running apps that will only use the dual or quad core portion of the chip. Imported and exported tons of 4K video and not only is it fast - this machine transcodes and doesn't even turn on its fans.

iMac Pro is not for the cost sensitive. If you have budget to choose a higher-end pro model, it will likely remain relevant in your workflow longer into the future than a higher-end regular iMac. Especially if you are doing lots of video and high MP still editing.
