6 core's and an SSD will make you happy
I bought the cheapest 1 TB, 2019 iMac that you can currently buy. Intel i5 @ 3.0Ghz with 6 core's and a radeon pro 570x graphics card. Runs supper fast, no more spinning beach ball, awesome 5K screen, tactile key board. Stay away from the fusion drive, b'cos once the SSD part of the fusion drive gets full you are throttled down to hard disk speed. Bought the 2019 iMac base model to replace my 2013 iMac. Upped the 8gb memory to 16k (aftermarket) without issue. Not a huge difference noticed between the two machines. Maybe a little more under the hood. Would have been nice if Apple put in a few more USB C ports + maybe an HDMI port. Had a bear of time using my old Apple Cinema Display (DVI-D) with this machine. Cost me $ in new adaptors (one of them being a discontinued apple adaptor) in order to get this working. Would have been n...
