This latest iPad is really what I expected except the case cover auto lock is not working; not a deal breaker but just an inconvenience for me knowing that it should be working. I thought it was a bug in iOS 12.1 but still not working with 12.1.1, so at this point I’m not sure if it’s iOS or hardware issue. A couple of items I like about this model are the Face ID and full screen (almost). Touch ID was nice but I’m getting used to the Face ID real fast. I’ve read somewhere that the Face ID wasn’t working properly in complete darkness but I didn’t notice that issue at all because the light from the screen is enough to illuminate the face. The visible screen goes up to about 8mm from the bezel which makes the 11” screen size whereas the physical screen is about 1’. This enables the iPad Pro screen noticeably bigger/wider than the iPad without being bigger in total dimension, which also makes the screen aspect ratio wider to 1.43 rather than 1.33 (4:3) of iPad. The battery capacity is another big plus; despite the latest and greatest processor, the charge normally lasts the whole week for me, same as iPad, with a daily usage. In my opinion the iPad is as good as the Pro version, especially if you don’t care for any of the above improvements, but it only takes a few new features/improvements that keep us moving forward without looking back.
