Fast, responsive, feels good to use

I am extremely happy with this purchase so far. I bought my mom an Aspire 3 and really liked how well it performed and how it felt to the touch (never though much about the touch or feel of a laptop under hand until I was comparing the Aspire to a Lenovo at the same time). That's actually why I went with the Aspire - simply because I didn't like how the Lenovo felt comparatively. I opted for the more powerful Aspire 5 for myself because I needed the additional "oomf" - it is super fast and very responsive.

Loud Laptop

Laptop sounds like an airplane everytime I turn it on. Not great to have a fan/whistle everytime I use the laptop. Even for tasks as simple as web browsing.

A very bad experience

I am very unhappy with this purchase. After receiving the computer and using it less than two weeks the computer failed and will not turn on. I purchased a new power chord and still doesn't come on. I wanted a refund or a new computer because obviously this one was a lemon. I tried to talk to customer service but there is no such thing with Acer. Only technical support. I have shipped it for repair and cannot get refund because it's past 15 days. This was supposed to be a computer for my son at college. Now we had to scramble to get him something else for his finals while we await this time consuming repair process. I wish I had spent more money with a brand that has customer service.

Light and compact

Very portable and light. Start up time and processing speeds are awesome. Keyboard is nice with backlight but space is a bit tight. A trade for lightweight.
