Purchases this for use with an iFootage Gazelle carbon fiber tripod with built-in leveling base. This is a beautifully machined, precision instrument that is a joy to use! Well worth the premium price.

I was starting to hate my ball head because my camera would always want to tilt over when I just wanted to tip it up or down a little. So I wanted a lightweight pan and tilt head, since I have tripod with a built-in ball leveler. I was hesitant with the price, but am glad I spent the money on it. Since it makes fine adjustments so much easier.

Wonderful addition to my photography gear. Can't believe I've been using a ball head all these years. Especially great for panoramas!

This is a really well made product that I feel will last a very long time. I haven’t cared for ball joints and this is the perfect alternative. Really impressive

Quality right out of the box! You can feel how well it is made removing it from the box. It may resemble a sextant but it works great. The precise control and movement is perfect for my camera. It holds my 600mm lens very still.

After using this head for about 6 months with a leveling adapter, the LLH has become my preferred setup. I use mine with a mirrorless system as well as an RB67 as a ball head substitute, but not as a gimbal. It is small and light enough for packing a mirrorless kit for travel, yet gives fantastic holding power with the RB67. There are a couple of things that the LLH does that a ball head does not (when used with a leveling adapter). Once leveled, it is always leveled no matter where it is pointed. A ball head always has to be re-leveled when adjusting framing (if that is the intent). Another plus is that when I'm adjusting framing, the LLH movements are very stable - I can dip the lens a little bit, tighten the head and it stays. It always seems that with a ball head after I adjust and tighten, there is a little bit of additional dip, more noticeable with longer focal lengths.

I have owned the Acratech Long Lens Head for three years and I LOVE it. I use it together with an Acratech leveling base which allows me to take panorama photos without making the leveling of the tripod legs perfect. This setup ensures my camera is 100% level while I shoot a pano, then I can adjust the Long Lens Head up or down to create a second or third row for the pano. This is the best system I have seen for panos outside of a heavy dedicated pano head rig. Highly recommended.

Well made and sturdy support for my Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens. Head fit easily onto my monopod. Please note that the head does not come with the quick release - I purchased that separately. Very pleased.

I bought the Acratech long lens head for use with my Canon 100-400 IS II lens and Gitzo GT3532S tripod because I needed something smaller and lighter than my Wimberley WH-200 head and the heavier GT5532S tripod when packing for extended hikes in the mountains. The Acratech head is perfect for this setup and it also supports my 600 lens solidly although I personally don't feel comfortable carrying the 600 lens on the Acratech while attached to the tripod like I do with my Wimberley but feel perfectly comfortable carrying the 100-400 lens on the Acratech head while attached to a tripod. I definitely would recommend this tripod head for the times when you need to go small/light and save the Wimberley head for the shorter treks!
