It is beautifully designed and made, as are all Acratech products, but… I use tripods and monopods extensively and like to carry the camera & lens mounted to the support and carried over my shoulder on hikes and climbs. The QR plate will not hold tight when used with a modestly weighty camera and lens. For example, the plate holds well when used with my Fujifilm X-Pro2 with a prime lens attached, say a 35mm f/1.4, but with a larger heavier lens like the 16-80mm f/4, the plate will slowly twist loose. Again, beautifully made, but perhaps not suitable for heavier rigs.

I bought the plate for use on my M6 ii, which has a unique design whereby most plates interfere with opening the battery/SD card access door. This plate allows access to the battery and SD card without having to remove the plate, a big plus for situations where you may be shooting a lot from a tripod. It’s not perfect, but it’s allows the door to open adequately to get the battery and card in/out of the camera. Well made product, solid.

I ordered this to use with my blackrapid strap system and 6d mark i (version 1 not version 2). This fit the item perfectly. The major flaw that I found was that this item does not have the two safety stops incorporated into the bottom of the plate (to prevent inadvertent release from the arca swiss clamp). This is a major risk for me as I would worry that if the arca swiss clamp came a bit loose, the plate could easily slide out. I have a backup tether attached from the strap to the cameras built in eye hook but I still would rather not risk it. It would have been perfect if it only had the stop screws built in.

The plate to camera body is excellent and it works perfectly with my Really Right Stuff ball head. Excellent quick release plate at an excellent price.

Works great on my D7200 body. The plate is fully compatible with and attaches securely to the Arca-Swiss type latching mechanism on the Benro ball heads of my monopod and tripod. I also have the Acratech plates for my other models of Nikon bodies and they work well, too. Real time- and fussiness-savers.

This plate has a small lip that prevents it from "rotation" relative to camera body while under weight related torsional stress on tripod. I tried another plate with a lip, but it interfered with the articulated LCD display of the D5500. The lip was too high and LCD display could not "swing-out". This one works perfect for both fit and function. It is designed to work with the D5500. I'm very pleased with it!

Use this on the Nikon D5100. There was no option listed for it at the time. I will report it fits perfectly and I have had zero issues with it. Quality product, made well, finished well, and does exactly what it's supposed to. Just wish when I was buying I didn't have to guess on which one to buy to fit my camera. Luckily the D5100 & D5200 are virtually identical for the use of this product.
