I waited a long time to find a good deal on a Windows 7 system. The Blu-ray drive was icing on the cake at the price I paid. The usual Acer Bloatware was easy to disable/remove.

I generally stick to word processing and internet surfing, but this computer seems to do everything well. It can easily handle several programs running at once. It stays very cool and has a strongly-constructed charging port (which were my only criticisms of my previous Acer laptop). If you're planning on watching movies (or even blu-ray), this laptop also has good speakers and a sharp screen. The USB 3.0 is also nice; much better when transferring large files.

This laptop was purchased for a daughter about to go off to college. I have purchased a total of 4 Acer laptops now for college-bound students and have been very pleased by their utility! While the one purchased in 2007 is still running very well, the latest one is exceptional and I have no doubt it will perform as expected. While I don't use it for my business, I would have no problems putting it up against an equivalent Dell, Toshiba, Sony, or Lenova, etc, for my business purposes in IT project management. The blu ray player is an excellent peripheral for a little R & R on weekend and a as a break from studies. We've only had it for about 2 weeks now but I have nothing bad to report about it. It just works. Runs MSOffice fine and any other application required of a college student. Excellent keyboard with numeric keypad. Screen has very nice resolution. Perhaps, I do have 3 nits to pick: 1) the touchpad is too sensitive for me. It must be adjusted - but I'm still an old mouse kinda guy, 2) It has a shiny case prone to finger prints, and 3) I don't care for the location of the power input socket. It's on the left sid of the laptop. I would prefer that it be on the back. So, okay, that's the worst I could say barring an unforeseen catastrophic failure. But given my track record with Acer, I don't expect it. One last plug for - Adorama! I ordered the laptop on a Tuesday and it was delivered by COB the next day and this was using the standard - FREE - UPS ground shipping option. That was quick! Props out to Adorama!
