I have known and loved apogee products from afar. In the past I have used both focusrite products( claret, Scarlett 6i6), presonus, and zoom interfaces. The preamp for this device blows all of those products away in terms of both headroom and clarity. The DAC via USB output was honestly the most life changing part. Even iTunes AAC and Spotify tracks have far more headroom, so much so that I have leveled out the eq on my cheap stereo receiver because the frequency response across the full range is that much more accurate. In tandem with Apple products, the interface/DAC work seemlesly for everyday audio output/volume control. pro tools and logic never fail to recognize the device, and even final cut seems to automatically use the onboard mic for voice over. For the price, this thing is a no brained unless you need more input/output options. 10/10 for musicians and audio enthusiasts alike. Completely worth the money
