The ColorBox supports Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), High Dynamic Range (HDR), and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) signals, providing you with a comprehensive solution for your color conversion needs. It utilizes 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 for single wire 4K/UltraHD HDR, ensuring high-quality video output up to 4:2:2 10-bit 60p or 4:4:4 12-bit 30p.
Built around a 33-point 3D LUT processor with tetrahedral interpolation, the ColorBox features a unique color processing pipeline. This includes additional 4x 1D LUTs and 2x 3x3 matrices, each individually configurable as Proc Amps or RGB Color Correctors.
The ColorBox is designed for user-friendly operation, with a web user interface that can be accessed directly from a wired Ethernet connection or through a wireless connection via a third-party WiFi USB adapter. It also includes processing pipeline modes from Colorfront and NBCU LUTs, as well as a powerful AJA Color Pipeline.
The ColorBox also offers licensable upgrade options for advanced color-managed workflows, including BBC HLG LUTs and the all-new ORION-CONVERT engine. This unique real-time floating point math approach to color transforms produces higher precision results, enabling pixel-perfect color transforms and round tripping where maintaining colors is paramount.
The ColorBox also features a sophisticated test pattern generator and frame store, providing useful tools for your workflow. It can capture up to a 4K image as a 16-bit .tiff file for the highest quality reference stills.
The ColorBox is designed with an elegant front panel that includes a USB OTG port, a select button for manually bypassing video processing, a power button, an SDI Lock LED, and a status LED. The rear provides 12G-SDI Input and Output, HDMI 2.0 Output, 4-pin mini-XLR power, and a 1GigE Ethernet port.
