Each video channel of the FS2 supports virtually any input or output, including analog component or composite, 3G/HD/SD-SDI, Dual-Link, and HDMI I/O. This high-tech device can function as two separate Frame Synchronizers/Format Converters, or you can combine the channels in a variety of powerful configurations. The FS2 is not just a format converter; it's a versatile tool that can up-convert or down-convert between SD and HD, and cross-convert between various HD formats, including the 3G 1080p50/60 formats. This innovative device also boasts full input and output signal routing, allowing any I/O port to be assigned to either processing channel. When it comes to audio, the FS2 doesn't disappoint. It features two audio processors, each supporting 16-channel AES/EBU digital audio, 16-channel embedded audio, and 8-channel balanced analog audio. This provides a variety of controls for maximum flexibility. The FS2 also supports closed captioning and the conversion of closed captioning between SD and HD formats, including full conversion between CEA-608 and CEA-708 caption standards. Network-ready, the FS2 supports SNMP monitoring and web-based remote control, with a 3rd-party Remote Control Panel available. With its ability to support all broadcast video formats, the FS2 simplifies the process of matching up disparate video and audio systems. Does what it says without any issues. I use it to change a 1090i feed to 1080p and back. Works well with no issues.
