Gets the job done, albiet expensively
Does the job - reliable enough. Waaaaayyyyyyy overpriced for what is essentially just a 500gb external drive, but the cheapest option for kiPro media. If you have the right tools you can crack it open and put an SSD inside; still cheaper to do that than to buy their SSD.

Almost 100% Reliable
AJA could be giving us more for our money on this item. There is only 500GB of storage for $. Given the price of hard drives, 1TB wouldn't be too much to ask at that price. That said, the storage module is very reliable as long as you remember to reformat it regularly. If you don't, it could decide not to work when the time comes to hit the record button.
We have had one other failure with the module. It recorded and played back fine on the recorder, but would not connect to the computer. The USB-3 connection on the module failed and could not be fixed by AJA. There is a work-around but it is very labor intensive. If failure is not an option, it is best to record secondarily as well.

Reliable Storage
This is a great storage device for the KiPro Rack enabling access for off-loading your recorded media.
