It’s been several weeks since the world dramatically changed, and life as we know it shifted completely. For many, it has been difficult to adjust to the new ways of doing things, but while we can’t travel or photograph our clients in person, there are ways to stay creative.

We might not be able to create the content we are used to, but we can adjust and create content that is valuable, inspirational, and resourceful to our world right now.

Creating can not only help others, but it will help focus your mind on the positive and what you can control. So here are five types of content you should start creating today to stay motivated, and #CreateNoMatterWhat!

1. Educational Content

Educational content is incredibly important and popular right now because people have the time to learn a new skill or pick up a new hobby. We attribute learning to our school days, but we should be learning every day, no matter what phase of life we are in. This can take the form of how-to or tutorial videos, can be articles, or creatively designed posters or infographics.

Now, this educational content doesn’t have to just be about your main creative passion. Mix it up, and try sharing about other hobbies you might have. Whether you’re great at cooking, yoga, or piano, grab your camera and figure out an educational series that puts that talent or hobby to good use.

If it’s unique to you, share it and teach others through the knowledge you possess. You may be surprised how many people really want to learn about what you do, and that content could resonate with them. So put yourself out there and teach people a new skill, hobby, or technique, and use social media as your platform for getting yourself out there.

2. Vlogs

Some of the most important and loved YouTube creators and personalities started out by documenting and sharing their daily life and routine with people, opening their world to others. This might not be for everyone, but if you have a great story, share it. Maybe it’s the city, state, or country you live in, and what it’s like to live there everyday. Maybe it’s your career and what you do on a daily or weekly basis.

Even if you aren’t able to do your normal routine right now because of the pandemic, document how your life has changed and what you are doing to adapt to that change, while still taking part in the things you love doing.

Right now is a unique time in human history, and a lot of people will look back on these moments and wish they had documented in some way. So take the opportunity, and start your vlogging content today. Learning how to start a YouTube channel is easier than ever, making the setup seamless.

3. Live Streaming Content

To say that live streaming is huge would be an understatement. So many of us are looking to feel connected even while the world is distancing, and live content has become the answer for many.

If you have a platform or audience online or on social media — whether it’s through a blog, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok — there are live streaming options and ways to connect with your audience in real time. Just pick up one of these top cameras for live streaming, and you’re set.

Whatever that live streaming content is for, make it a space for people to interact and feel connected with you and others. Maybe you’re learning a new recipe or you just watched a popular movie or documentary and want to give a live review — whatever the subject is, make people feel connected and included through your live stream.

4. Webinars

Webinars combine education with real time content, and have become more popular given the current circumstances. Imagine you are the professor or teacher of your creative focus or skillset. You might know a lot about photography, videography, graphic design, or another creative skill. You may know how to not only create but run a successful business while doing what you love. People want to learn in a format in which they can take notes and process information both verbally and visually. Webinars combine the best of both worlds.

So take some time, and develop a presentation or series of presentations that breaks down a certain topic or specialization you focus on, and gives people information they can digest and learn. Be sure to promote the series and when it will go live and use video chat softwares, like Zoom, that have seamless integrations to Facebook and other social media channels. Watch as you develop another type of content that is incredibly valuable to people right now.

5. Audio and Video Podcasts

Steve Jobs was right when he said that podcasting was the future of audio. Podcasting has become a fantastic , increasingly popular way to create a valuable conversation around a topic you love or are interested in.

And now, with the way our world continues to shift to video content, video, along with audio podcasts, have become a fantastic way to add visual content to your social media channels. All of this can be done while simultaneously growing your presence on huge podcasting platforms. You can learn how to start a podcast on Spotify and Apple iTunes

What makes podcasting so powerful right now is that you can do it right from your home or home studio, and you don’t need to travel or go anywhere. You can do it from the comfort of quarantine, with the time to record plenty of episodes needed for a consistent weekly or monthly show. You just need to follow a few simple steps for a successful podcast launch

Podcasts are simple, really. At it’s core, it’s just a conversation. It doesn’t have to be super scripted or well-written. Some of the most popular podcasts out there have hosts improvise and vocalize their thoughts, no script required. Whatever podcast topic you choose, as long as you’re authentic and bring value to your audience, you’ll begin to see traction and downloads take place.

Since we’re all at home these days, pick up a microphone and an audio recorder, and try podcasting out for a change. It could become a major outlet and content generator for your personal platform and brand.
