Bringing your Instagrams from screen to print just got a lot easier thanks to a tiny and portable printer — the new Canon IVY Mini Photo Printer that will develop 2×3 cartridge-free Zink photos in just seconds.
The printer — available in mint green, slate gray, and rose gold — lets you connect via the Canon Mini Printer App to create prints or stickers (filters, text, illustrations and frames optional) on smudge-free and water-resistant paper at a print resolution of 314 x 400 dpi. Users can create a collage of four to nine images, or use any of the set templates available in-app.
“The proverb ‘good things come in small packages’ couldn’t be more true for the first 2×3 photo printer from Canon U.S.A.,” said Kazuto Ogawa, president and chief operating officer, Canon U.S.A., Inc. in a press release. “It’s our smallest and lightest printer yet, and the company is excited about giving customers more access to creatively connect and instantly share memories than ever before from the palm of their hand.”
But more than that, thanks to the ZINK technology, the prints are produced with zero ink (so no need for ink cartridges) and instead use embedded ink crystals that activate during printing.
Connected via Bluetooth, and with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batter that can hold a full charge for approximately 90 minutes, the 5.64-ounce printer producer a powerful punch in a pretty tiny package.
The printer is now available from Adorama in rose gold, mint green, and slate gray for , and photo printer paper is also available in 20-sheet and 50-sheet packs at and , respectively.
