Polk’s Latest Assist Smart Speaker Features a Built-In Google Assistant

Created with your love of music in mind, the latest offering from Polk will have you filling your home with premium sound in just moments. Named the Polk Assist, this new smart speaker includes a tweeter, woofer, and amplifier that can enhance sound in any space. And since it’s paired with a built-in Google Assist, you’ll also be able to interact, ask questions, manage your calendar and projects, and control other devices via the device’s Chromecast.

This “smart speaker designed for music,” the company announced, can fill your room with sound through your favorite music app, including Pandora, TuneIn, Google Play Music, YouTube Music, NPR and Spotify Premium.

With hands-free control that let’s you power up the Google Assistant whenever you need a question answered or a podcast episode changed, and you only need your voice to do the work.

The speaker, which can easily be set up using the Google Home App, is Bluetooth-enabled and wireless, eliminating the need for cumbersome wires or unnecessary plugs.

Here’s are some other key features you need to know:

  • It’s a 7.5-inch tall and 4.7-inch wide speaker, that weighs approximately 3 pounds (1.36 kg).
  • The buttons (located on the top of the speaker) include options for play/pause, volume up or down, mute, and actions (in addition to your voice commands).
  • The Polk Assist is also compatible with the MagniFi MAX, the MagniFi Mini, and the MagniFi MAX SR.
