With smart phone sales eating into the compact camera market, Samsung is responding by introducing a revamped compact camera lineup with WiFi connectivity. Users can now more easily upload photos to social networks by using their cameras in conjunction with their smart phones or directly via a WiFi hotspot.
The WB850F offers a 21x superzoom, while the DV300F has a 1.5-inch front-facing LCD and the St200f is slim enough to fit in a purse or pocket. All include WiFi functionality. In addition to uploading to social networks, the cameras offer free cloud storage using Samsung’s AllShare Play and Microsoft SkyDrive.
Samsung also announced two slim “fashion” cameras, the ST77 and ST76, as well as several compact camcorders including the QF20, F80 and W300 (shown above).
