Because preserving your precious artwork, photographs, and documents is of utmost importance, the Archival Methods Museum Board offers an unparalleled solution. Crafted from 100% pure cotton fiber, this Bright White Museum Board is a neutral-toned, 8-Ply, 120 Pt. board that guarantees durability and longevity.
This professional-grade museum board is acid-free and lignin-free, ensuring your artwork remains safe from the damaging effects of acid migration and environmental pollution. The board's pH level is carefully maintained at 9 +/-0.5, thanks to the buffering with calcium carbonate. This buffering process provides a 2-3% alkaline reserve, further protecting your valuable pieces from becoming acidic over time.
The Archival Methods Museum Board is free from optical brightening agents, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. Its sulfur content is less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, while the iron content does not exceed 150ppm and copper does not exceed 6ppm. This ensures the purity of the board and its suitability for preserving your artwork.
The board's alkaline sizing is used for both internal and external sizing, without the use of alum in the manufacturing process. The single ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, creating a sturdy and reliable surface.
This 8-Ply board is perfect for matting, mounting, and preserving fine prints, precious documents, and both traditional and digital photographs. The thickness of the board creates a 1/8" separation between your artwork and its glazing, providing a flat, supportive backing for both display and storage.
The Archival Methods Museum Board passes the rigorous Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO IT 18916 (formerly ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16), ensuring it will not degrade and cause harm to your mounted matted artwork. Its lignin content is tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85 and has a Kappa number of less than five, further attesting to its high quality and reliability.
Choose the Archival Methods Museum Board for a reliable, professional, and high-quality solution to preserve and display your valuable artwork and documents.
