If you're seeking a high-quality, archival-grade material for preserving your precious documents, fine prints, and both traditional and digital photographs, look no further than the Museum Board 32x40 Antique White 2 Ply PKG 25. Crafted from 100% pure cotton fiber pulp, this museum board is devoid of any post-consumer waste recycled pulp, ensuring a clean and pristine surface for your valuable items.
The Antique White variant of this museum board offers a warm, yellow-ivory tone, adding a touch of elegance to your matted works. This board is acid-free and lignin-free, incorporating both internal and external alkaline sizing for added protection. It's buffered with calcium carbonate, providing a 2-3% alkaline reserve and maintaining a pH level of 9 +/-0.5. This feature safeguards your treasured pieces from the damaging effects of acid migration and environmental pollution that could potentially lower the pH of the mat board over time.
The Museum Board 32x40 Antique White 2 Ply PKG 25 is meticulously manufactured without the use of optical brightening agents, ensuring the longevity and integrity of your matted works. Its 2-Ply / 30 Pt. thickness (approximately 1/32") offers a sturdy and flat backing, ideal for both display and storage purposes.
This museum board is free from metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. It boasts a sulfur content of less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, and its iron and copper content do not exceed 150ppm and 6ppm respectively.
The color dyes used in this museum board are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring that your matted works retain their original colors over time. This board passes the rigorous Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO 14523 (formerly ANSI IT9.16), and its lignin content, tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85, has a Kappa number of less than five.
The single-ply sheets of this museum board are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, further enhancing its archival quality. Ideal for matting, mounting, and preservation applications, the Museum Board 32x40 Antique White 2 Ply PKG 25 provides a 1/32" separation between your artwork and its glazing, offering optimal protection for your valuable pieces.
