Under the trusted brand of Archival Methods, the Museum Board 8-1/2x11 Antique White 2 Ply PKG 25 stands as a testament to superior quality and durability. Crafted from 100% cotton fiber, this museum board boasts an antique white hue, a warm yellow-ivory tone that adds a touch of elegance to any artwork or photograph.
This professional-grade museum board is acid-free and lignin-free, ensuring the longevity of your precious documents and prints. It incorporates both internal and external alkaline sizing, devoid of any alum in the manufacturing process, thus offering robust protection against acid migration from the matted work or a polluted environment.
The board is buffered with calcium carbonate, maintaining a 2-3% alkaline reserve and a pH level of 9 +/-0.5. This feature safeguards your artwork from becoming more acidic over time, preserving its original color and texture.
Unlike many other boards, this product is free from optical brightening agents, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. The sulfur content is less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, and the iron content does not exceed 150ppm, while copper remains below 6ppm.
The 2-Ply, 30 Pt. (Approximately 1/32") board is constructed from 99% Alpha Cellulose, with no post-consumer waste recycled pulp. The single-ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, enhancing the board's sturdiness and reliability.
The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring your artwork remains vibrant and true to its original colors. This museum board passes the Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO 14523 (formerly ANSI IT9.16), and the lignin content, tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85, has a Kappa number of less than five.
Ideal for matting, mounting, and preservation of fine prints, precious documents, and both traditional and digital photographs, the Museum Board 8-1/2x11 Antique White 2 Ply PKG 25 provides a 1/32" separation between your artwork and its glazing, offering a flat, supportive backing for both display and storage. This museum board is a reliable choice for artists, photographers, and craft enthusiasts alike.
