Be assured of the longevity and quality of your prints, photographs, and precious documents with the Archival Methods Museum Board. Crafted from 100% cotton fiber, this Antique White museum board offers a subtly warm, yellow-ivory tone that enhances the aesthetic appeal of your artwork.
This professional-grade museum board is acid-free and lignin-free, ensuring that your artwork is protected from the damaging effects of acid migration and environmental pollution. The board is buffered with calcium carbonate, maintaining a stable pH level and preventing the board from becoming more acidic over time.
The Archival Methods Museum Board is 2-Ply / 30 Pt. (Approximately 1/32"), made from 99% Alpha Cellulose cotton fiber pulp. It is free from post-consumer waste recycled pulp, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. The sulfur content is less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, while the iron content does not exceed 150ppm and copper does not exceed 6ppm.
No optical brightening agents are used in the pulp, ensuring the natural color of the board. Alkaline sizing is used for both internal and external sizing, with no alum used in the manufacturing process. The board is buffered with calcium carbonate 2-3% alkaline reserve, pH 9 +/-0.5, ensuring it remains acid-free.
The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring the color of your artwork remains vibrant and true over time. The board passes the PAT (Photographic Activity Test) ISO 14523 (formerly ANSI IT9.16), confirming its suitability for preserving photographic materials.
The lignin content is tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85 and has a Kappa number of less than five, ensuring the board's durability and longevity. The single ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive.
This museum board is ideal for matting, mounting, and preserving fine prints, precious documents, and both traditional and digital photographs. For window mats and mat backing of small prints, a 2-Ply mat will create a 1/32" separation between your artwork and its glazing, providing a flat, supportive backing for both display and storage.
Choose the Archival Methods Museum Board for a reliable, high-quality solution for your printing and photography needs.
