Make your artwork and photographs stand out with the Archival Methods Museum Board in Antique White. Crafted from 100% pure cotton fiber, this museum-quality board is a durable and reliable choice for professionals and hobbyists alike. Its antique white hue, a subtle blend of yellow and ivory tones, provides a classic backdrop that enhances the visual appeal of your prints and documents.
This 2-Ply, 30 Pt. museum board is not just about aesthetics. It's designed with longevity in mind, being acid-free and lignin-free to prevent discoloration, yellowing, and brittleness over time. The board is buffered with calcium carbonate, providing a protective layer against acid migration from matted works and environmental pollutants that could potentially lower the pH of the mat board, making it more acidic over time.
The Archival Methods Museum Board is free of optical brightening agents, ensuring the board maintains its original color over time. It's also free of metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide, with a sulfur content of less than 0.0008% and iron and copper contents that do not exceed 150ppm and 6ppm respectively.
The board uses alkaline sizing for both internal and external sizing, with no alum used in the manufacturing process. It's also buffered with a 2-3% alkaline reserve, maintaining a pH of 9 +/-0.5. The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring your artwork remains vibrant and true to its original colors.
This museum board passes the Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO 14523 (formerly ANSI IT9.16), confirming its suitability for preserving fine prints, precious documents, and both traditional and digital photographs. With a Kappa number of less than five, the lignin content is minimal, further enhancing its archival quality.
The 2-Ply design of this museum board makes it an excellent choice for matting, mounting, and preservation. It creates a 1/32" separation between your artwork and its glazing, providing a flat, supportive backing for both display and storage. Trust the Archival Methods Museum Board for a professional, high-quality solution to showcase and protect your valuable works.
