Take your archival presentation and preservation to the next level with the Adorama 32x40" 4-Ply Antique White 100% Cotton Museum Board. This premium pack of 15 boards is meticulously crafted from 100% cotton fiber, ensuring a superior foundation for matting, mounting, and safeguarding your valuable prints, documents, and photographs - both traditional and digital.
The Antique White hue of the board offers a subtle, yellow/ivory tone that enhances the visual appeal of your matted work without overpowering it. The board's acid- and lignin-free composition, coupled with alkaline or neutral sizing, provides a stable and enduring environment that resists the damaging effects of acid migration and environmental pollutants. This proactive approach helps maintain the integrity of the board's pH level, preventing it from becoming more acidic over time.
Our 4-Ply Museum Board is constructed with a 60 Pt. thickness, approximately 1/16", offering a robust yet refined separation between your artwork and its glazing. This separation is crucial for both display and long-term storage, providing a flat and supportive backing that contributes to the preservation of your pieces.
In the creation of this museum-quality board, no optical brightening agents are introduced, preserving the authenticity of the board's color over time. The 100% cotton fiber pulp, boasting 99% Alpha Cellulose, is free from post-consumer waste recycled pulp, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. The sulfur content is meticulously controlled to less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, with iron content not exceeding 150ppm and copper below 6ppm.
The boards are buffered with calcium carbonate, featuring a 2-3% alkaline reserve and a pH of 9 +/-0.5, to ensure acid-free longevity. The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, guaranteeing that the board will not degrade or cause harm to the artwork it supports. Furthermore, the board passes the rigorous Photographic Activity Test (PAT) according to ISO IT 18916 standards, previously known as ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16.
Lignin, a known factor in paper degradation, is kept to a minimum, with a Kappa number of less than five as tested by TAPPI 236cm-85. The sheets are laminated using an all-natural starch adhesive, reinforcing the board's commitment to archival quality and environmental responsibility.
Choose the Adorama 32x40" 4-Ply Antique White 100% Cotton Museum Board for a professional-grade solution that upholds the highest standards of archival preservation, ensuring that your artwork, photographs, and documents remain preserved in pristine condition for future generations to appreciate.
