Let the Archival Methods Museum Board serve as the ultimate protector for your precious artwork, documents, and photographs. Crafted from 100% pure cotton fiber pulp, this Natural White Museum Board boasts a subtle cream tone that adds a touch of elegance to any piece.
This museum-quality board is acid-free and lignin-free, ensuring your artwork remains safe from the damaging effects of acid migration and environmental pollution. The board's pH level is carefully maintained to prevent it from becoming more acidic over time, providing a stable and secure environment for your valuable pieces.
Unlike many other boards, our Museum Board does not contain any optical brightening agents, post-consumer waste recycled pulp, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, or residual bleach peroxide. Its sulfur content is less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, and it has a low iron and copper content, ensuring the utmost purity for your artwork's preservation.
The board's alkaline sizing, both internal and external, is achieved without the use of alum, further enhancing its archival quality. It is buffered with calcium carbonate, providing a 2-3% alkaline reserve and maintaining a pH of 9 +/-0.5.
The color dyes used in the Museum Board are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring your artwork's colors remain vibrant and true. The board will not degrade over time, providing a safe and stable backing for your matted artwork.
This Museum Board passes the rigorous Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO IT 18916 (formerly ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16), and its lignin content is tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85, boasting a Kappa number of less than five.
The single-ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, making it an ideal choice for matting, mounting, and preserving fine prints, precious documents, and both traditional and digital photographs. For window mats and mat backing, this 4-Ply board creates a 1/16" separation between your artwork and its glazing, providing a flat, supportive backing for both display and storage.
Choose the Archival Methods Museum Board for a superior, long-lasting solution to protect and showcase your valuable pieces.
