Discover the Archival Methods Museum Board, a premium product designed for professionals who demand the best in photography and printing. Crafted from 100% pure cotton fiber, this black museum board boasts a rich, solid black color that enhances the visual appeal of your prints and photographs.
This high-quality museum board is acid- and lignin-free, ensuring the longevity of your artwork. It incorporates alkaline or neutral sizing and is buffered with calcium carbonate, providing robust protection against acid migration from matted work and environmental pollution. This safeguarding feature helps maintain the pH level of the mat board, preventing it from becoming more acidic over time.
The 4-Ply, 60 Pt. construction of this museum board (approximately 1/16") offers superior durability. It's made from 100% cotton fiber pulp (99% Alpha Cellulose), free of post-consumer waste recycled pulp, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, and residual bleach peroxide. With a sulfur content of less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, iron content not exceeding 150ppm, and copper not exceeding 6ppm, this museum board is meticulously crafted to ensure the highest quality.
No optical brightening agents are used in the pulp, and alkaline sizing is employed for both internal and external sizing. The manufacturing process is free of alum, further enhancing the archival quality of the board. Buffered with calcium carbonate, it maintains a 2-3% alkaline reserve, pH 9 +/-0.5, and is acid-free.
The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring your artwork remains vibrant and unaffected over time. This museum board will not degrade or cause harm to your mounted matted artwork. It passes the PAT (Photographic Activity Test) ISO IT 18916 (formerly ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16), a testament to its superior quality and archival standards.
The lignin content is tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85 and has a Kappa number of less than five. The single ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, ensuring a sturdy and durable construction.
Ideal for matting, mounting, and preserving fine prints, precious documents, and both traditional and digital photographs, this 4-Ply board provides a 1/16" separation between your artwork and its glazing, offering a flat, supportive backing for display and storage. Experience the difference with the Archival Methods Museum Board, a trusted choice for professionals in the field.
