Let your artwork and photographs shine with the Archival Methods Museum Board, a premium-quality, 4-ply, 17x22 Polar White board. Crafted from 100% cotton fiber pulp, this professional-grade museum board is designed to provide a sturdy, durable base for your prints, ensuring longevity and preservation of your precious documents and artwork.
The Polar White Museum Board boasts a cool tone with a subtle blue shift, enhancing the visual appeal of your prints. It's acid-free and lignin-free, incorporating both internal and external alkaline sizing, ensuring your artwork remains protected from the harmful effects of acid migration and environmental pollution.
This museum board is buffered with calcium carbonate, maintaining a pH level of 9 +/-0.5, which safeguards your artwork from becoming more acidic over time. Unlike many alternatives, this product contains no optical brightening agents, metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, or residual bleach peroxide, ensuring the purity of your prints.
With a sulfur content of less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur, iron content not exceeding 150ppm, and copper not exceeding 6ppm, this museum board guarantees minimal interference with your artwork. The color dyes used are light-fast and non-bleeding, ensuring your prints retain their original color and vibrancy over time.
The Archival Methods Museum Board is constructed using a natural starch adhesive, laminating the single ply sheets together to create a 4-ply, 60 Pt. (Approximately 1/16") board. This thickness provides a flat, supportive backing for your artwork, creating a 1/16" separation between your artwork and its glazing, ideal for both display and storage.
This museum board passes the rigorous Photographic Activity Test (PAT) ISO IT 18916 (formerly ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16), and its lignin content, tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85, has a Kappa number of less than five, ensuring it will not degrade and cause harm to your mounted matted artwork.
Whether you're matting, mounting, or preserving fine prints, traditional or digital photographs, or precious documents, the Archival Methods Museum Board is the perfect choice for professionals seeking high-quality, durable, and archival solutions.
