Are you seeking a high-quality, durable, and aesthetically pleasing solution for your artwork, photographs, or documents Our 5x7" Conservation Mat Board, available in packs of 25, in a sophisticated Pearl White color, could be just what you need.
Crafted from alpha-cellulose pulp derived from purified wood fiber, this Conservation Mat Board offers the same stability and longevity as cotton Museum Board, but at a more cost-effective production rate. The purified wood pulp paper has a proven track record of safety when used with paper artwork, photographs, and documents, making it a reliable choice for preservation.
Our Conservation Mat Board is acid-free and lignin-free, ensuring your precious works are protected from the harmful effects of acid migration. The board incorporates alkaline or neutral sizing and is buffered with calcium carbonate. This buffering safeguards your matted work from environmental pollutants that could cause the pH of the mat board to decrease and become more acidic over time.
We take pride in the fact that no optical brightening agents are used in the manufacturing process of our Conservation Board. The board is available in 2-Ply / 30 Pt. (Approximately 1/32") and 4-Ply / 60 Pt. (Approximately 1/16") options. The alkaline sizing is used for both internal and external sizing, and no alum is used in the manufacturing process.
Our Conservation Mat Board is colored with light-fast and non-bleeding dyes, ensuring the board will not degrade and cause harm to your mounted matted artwork. The lignin content is tested by TAPPI 236 cm-85 and has a Kappa number of less than five. The single ply sheets are laminated together using an all-natural starch adhesive, and the board passes the PAT (Photographic Activity Test) ISO IT 18916 (formerly ISO 14523 ANSI IT9.16).
Our Pearl White Conservation Mat Board offers a warmer tonality than our Bright White Museum Board. It's similar to Antique White, but with less of a yellow tint. The look, feel, and cutting characteristics are very similar to mat boards made from cotton pulp, and it maintains a similar lustrous surface. This Conservation Mat Board is an excellent alternative for those seeking high archival quality at an attractive price.
