Need to use the smart home app for the initial configuration and assign static IP address. Once configured, I was able to integrate the camera into my Synology NVR with no other issues. The picture quality is good and I appreciate the motion activated light.

I've been struggling with the connectivity to this camera since day one when I got it this past spring. I have a router about 15 feet from the camera and the connection is strong, but the camera constantly drops frames and occasionally drops the entire connection. In BlueIris this camera is frequently offline. None of the other cameras I have in my home (6 in total) drop out like this one does, and they are all WiFi cameras. Really disappointed.

I have been using this camera for the last 3 months or so with no problem. The lights are very good at illuminating thr entire back yard patio area of my townhome. I am able to access the camera from anywhere throughout my home and have signal throughout, and the motion detector is sensitive enough to see moving objects as soon as they are in the field of view. It gets really cold where I live, and so far the camera has held up to very cold weather with no problem. I sync it up with a Synology disk station and have had zero issues with it being able to communicate with the server. So far, it has worked out great!! I am honestly impressed with this unit. The clarity of the video is good enough for my needs. The LED lights are very bright. The motion detect and alerts function works well (still trying to find the sweet spot for sensitivity). The new Smart Home app is a big improvement over the View Pro my older Amcrest cameras use, but I can view all cameras (new and old) in the View Pro app, so I tend to use that one. I would like to see additional options for the LED lights: Perhaps some sort of combination mode (e g., scheduled on for evening and early morning, with motion detect in between?)

Paired this with a doorbell camera. Very happy with both. Good clear video day and night.

This thing has a lot of problems. It constantly loses WiFi connection and drops video, even with great signal. It cannot be accessed directly through a web interface, unlike other Amcrest cameras. You are forced to use the Smart Home app. Also water gets into the light enclosure, it is not water proof. The lights also get in the way of the camera view. The nightvision light reflects off the back of the flood light housings and washes out the video.

Needed help reconnecting my NVR to my ASH26 camera, after power loss. The tech, Lisa, saw an IP address change for the camera, corrected it on my NVR and connection was possible. Lisa also assisted in changing my NVR to 'static' from 'dynamic' . She was patient and very helpful.

Overall this product is ok as there are some major drawbacks. These aren't dealbreakers but it does impact the user experience. 1. Light only pivots in 1 direction. This makes setting up more difficult if you want to adjust the light horizontally. 2. Nighttime detection is vastly inferior to daytime. The differences between night and day are enormous. One way that I would suggest to resolve this issue is to allow scheduling of sensitivity. That way nighttime detection can be cranked all the way up while it uses normal detection during daytime. But as of this writing you can only have 1 motion detection profile. 3. Camera only pivots in 1 direction as well. I have somewhat gotten around this issue by turning the camera in a weird angle. The saving grace of the camera is that everything else is solid. Video quality, ease of use, ease of installation (the hook is amazing), app is very nice, and much more. It's just for my setup I have the camera at a corner and the lack of pivoting made angle setup quite difficult. So if these issues can be addressed then this camera would get a solid 5 stars.

When the system works it does as advertised. However, the cameras, and I have six of them, all have poor battery life. The only way to extend battery life is to turn-off the "motion detection". This does extend the battery life but does very little for the security & monitoring feature. I have had one camera go bad and it stopped working. After much correspondence, Amcrest Customer Service did send me a replacement, after I sent them the bad camera. Now the i have the NEW camera the issue has been on how to remove the bad camera from the software application, "Amcrest Smart Home". When I try to delete the camera it gives me a ?failed to delete" message. Since the software & hub only allows you to install 6 cameras, it will not install the NEW camera until the old Camera has been removed. So after trying to solve this with ?Customer Service? over the phone, I?m back to sending in the technical support form again to ?Technical Support" for help. So dealing with this company & technical support that is located outside the USA has been frustrating. I?m hopeful that, by filling out my 3rd technical support form, I can get this issue resolved.

Bought to replace the Ring floodlight camera. This is a slightly better camera and I was able to connect it to my Synology NAS to record and manage my own video without the monthly fee. Only negatives are the adjustment for when the spotlight come on is not great - either very sensitive or not at all. Also adjusting the angle of the camera is tricky - get it adjusted to close to where you need it before you mount the light.

Got our new outdoor light and camera unit mounted on outside of house it was super easy to install. The unit was boxed up very good no damage at all which is good thanks to the shipping department. The wi-fi was really easy to connect I just followed the instructions in the handbook enclosed. Later that night I tried the light and it shines bright and the photo cell is adjustable for movement. Like it so well my sister and another friend wants to get one also. Thanks for the great products. William sainer

I purchased this system a couple months ago. It works OK, but customer service is located in India and most of the "techs" speak horrible English. I have tried to exchange a defective battery that will not take a full charge and after three weeks dealing with customer service, I still don't have another battery. Also, tech mislead me and said this system would work with a computer. It will not.

This product came installed with a house we recently purchased. The former owner left us detailed instructions for set up via the mobile app. I tried multiple times to set up the camera without success. I called the company's tech support line. They were absolutely useless, and on top of that, I had extreme difficulty communicating due to their poor English and accent. I plan to remove the camera and throw it in the trash. I'd steer clear of this company due to their extremely poor support.

Positives - Light build quality is nice and it's heavy which makes it more sturdy and convenient for outdoor use - The packaging is great and comes with all the necessary hardware - The camera quality is also decent at Full HD - It does not require the Hub however you need the app to control the camera settings - adding the camera to the app is nice and easy, when connected to the network the speaker on the unit tells through voice prompt that it is connected to a network which is added bonus - You have options to flip the view horizontally or vertically in the app - it can be controlled through Alexa and if you have already added the Amcrest skill, the device will be automatically added to Alexa - Supports MicroSD card on the unit however it did to recognize the sd card 3 times and I formatted the card on a laptop with no luck. Then reinserted the card again and it worked. - The notifications popup quickly and you can control the light through the app as well, in case you want to view something in dark and leave them on. Nice to Have - The biggest disappointment is the camera adjustments. The camera and the lights can be rotated or moved up/down and that is it. It is not full 360 and I would have preferred a ball mount to utilize the camera to its full potential. I cannot position it correctly now as it cannot be moved to the side - The Amcrest smart home cameras come with the hub and this one does not connect to it else it would have been convenient to use the On-Board storage on the Hub. If you have more devices from Amcrest then adding this camera to the hub would have made sense (if you don't have the hub, don't worry this Floodlight does not need one) - The floodlight should have frosted covers as the pictures are deceiving. It seems like they are frosted but it is showing the light as on and in other pictures, you see the LEDs

Installed these cameras and base station for a neighbor about a year ago and the system has been a total nightmare. The batteries last about two weeks tops because there is absolutely zero settings in the app to control motion sensitivity or set motion zones, so it constantly is triggered by movement. The base station consistently loses its connection to the onboard USB local storage, requiring either a reformat or rebooting the base station every few weeks, and the app is a difficult to navigate, featureless program. I would highly recommend that anyone looking at this go with another brand.

My first Motion detected floodlight camera, saw that it was ONVIF compatible, so opted to give it a go. Was able to set it up in Blue Iris, as well as on my QNAP QVRpro system. I purchased two other camera's from Amcrest that same day (Two IP2M-841W-V3) and was disappointed to see that I have to use two different apps from the same company for my two Models. Other major disappointment, is Have to type in the password for the Amcrest SmartHome app each time I go into it on my iPhone or iPad, as well as on an android phone. I would like to SAVE the password on those devices, and rely upon the security on the phone to protect the App. Typing in my strong password on the phone EACH TIME, is NOT A DESIREABLE FEATURE.

I bought this camera to use indoors although this can be used outdoors as well. This is wireless so it makes it easy to just mount it anywhere and it also comes with a pivoting mount which is super convenient to get the perfect angle you want Packaging: The packing is big due to the size of both the camera and the hub. The packaging is also super tight and not easy to remove the contents. I had a hard time getting the stuff out of this Hub: I own the Blink, Wyze, and now this Amcrest wireless cameras, and both Amcrest and Blink need a Hub. However, the Blink is a wireless hub and only needs to be plugged into power and can connect to your WiFi. Amcrest on the other hand needs a wired ethernet connection and also needs to be plugged in so in my mind is not super convenient in order to place the device. Both Blink and Amcrest have USB ports on the hub however not sure what the Amcrest port does as it did not recognize my USB drive, however, I can use Blink for expanded storage Wyze does not need any kind of hub, so you can place the camera anywhere, although the Wyze Cam V2 needs to be plugged into a power outlet in order for it to work as it doesn't have its own battery Setup: Wyze cam v2 is the easiest to set up as you only need to plug it in, install the app and the camera can be setup Blink on the other hand requires to undo the plate, read a barcode and then install batteries to make it work. Amcrest is similar to where you need to first register the hub and then the camera. Installing the rechargeable battery in the camera is easy but the mechanism feels flimsy App: App for both Wyze and Blink are easy to operate and you can fine-tune the camera settings to your liking example settings up motion zones etc Amcrest you cannot do that and the app is not convenient to use. The app shows cloud storage and micro SD, however the camera does not have any micro sd slot so you would need to go for cloud storage which is paid option Storage: Both Wyze and Blink support on-camera storage. Wyze has a micro SD slot and Blink has built in storage which can be expanded by using the USB port on the hub. Amcrest - i did not find any such option and the usb port does not recognize my 32GB USB drive for extra storage Image Quality: The picture quality on all the cameras is great and all support Full HD 1080p resolution. The best picture quality and night vision goes to Wyze and then Amcrest. Blink night vision is average. Amcrest also allows you to choose Standard or Full HDas an option and you can record the clip or take a snapshot. Not sure where does the system store it but it is super annoying to find the clip. As the snapshot or recording is not stored in the camera itself, you need to go back to the main page in the App and then go to Account Settings-> My saved files in order to access the files You can setup maximum of 6 cameras with the Amcrest hub and Wyze does not have any such limit Build Quality: The Wyze Cam v2 and Blink are made out of plastic and feel cheap as compared to Amcrest which feels smooth and premium and well built overall. But that also adds to the bulk and Amcrest is heavy as compared to the others. Battery Life: Wyze is a powered camera so it is not required to charge or the batteries to be replaced but it is pain to run the power cord into an outlet. And you will need to find a long one. Blink takes Lithium batteries similar to AAs but Amcrest comes with a hefty rechargeable battery which is supposed to last 6 months but subject to usage. Its been 10 days since I fully charged the battery on the Amcrest camera however it is down to 77% already and I dont even have Motion detection on. I just use it indoor to monitor what the kids are doing. Overall: If you are looking for a security system that you can install and will give you max features and value for money - I would suggest Wyze or Blink. If you need indoor cameras, I would still recommend Wyze or Blink due to the convenience and price point. Amcrest for the features and quality is not worth the money in my opinion but from image quality and night vision perspective the camera delivers.

One more product of Amcrest, very good quality and works like a charm the hub is inside my house and the cameras outside in a reasonable distance, I had about a month and the battery is still in 80% so for me is great, my only concert is the time to recharge I think the next revision should be a external charger where you just need to take the battery out and charge externally. but beside that I love it, the quality of image is great

This little camera puts out decent light when motion is detected. The alarm (siren) isn't the loudest alarm there is, but its annoying enough to let you know something was caught by the camera. The Wi-Fi setup is easy to use. The camera uses a usb plug for power so you can always get an extension to get more length out of the power wire. The quality of the picture is pretty good too. Once the spotlight comes on from motion, the quality of the picture improves because of the light. I ended up ...
