Will be replacing doorbell camera with a different brand. Later, when researching the problem I came across many reviews the same issue.

The doorbell cam has been installed for a few days now and I've been more than happy with it. The alerts are near real time, the video is quite clear, and functionality is as expected. I also added it to my Amcrest NVR so I can record on that and view it with the rest of my cams on the Amcrest ViewPro app. The SmartHome app works well too; the UI for setting up is straight forward. I went with the 1080 vs the 4k model mainly due to operating temperature range; I'm in the midwest so it can get to -10F in the winter.

Unit installed, powered up and connected to my Wi-Fi pretty easy and then it just stopped working 5 minutes after I got it up and running. Unit doesn't even show that it powers up anymore. I have a 24v transformer which works just fine and powered up my old doorbell camera. (I had the exact same Amcrest doorbell camera for four years and had to buy a new one) I guess I'm gonna have to return it.

First, the QR code for the doorbell didn't work and that seems to be common, so just use the serial number to set it up. QR seems to just be there to annoy you. Second, to get the continuous recording to work you supposedly have to disable motion detection, but it just doesn't work. The app will show that the continuous recording is re-enabled after a little time, but neither continuous recording or motion detection will work and you have to toggle the setting a couple times and reboot. Third, I told support this, and they said that I had to install a newer version of the app through a Google Drive link. I said, no. You should support the latest version on Google Play, but they disagree. They said that they will not support the latest version that they have available to people. Truly amazing. I've never seen such pathetic support. So, I had to wait a month to get the latest version off of Google Play because there's no way in hell I'm trusting the Google Drive link of a company that refuses to support the latest publicly available version of their app. After installing that, there was no change. Throughout this entire time, there was absolutely no real support. They refused to work with me because I wouldn't install an app from a shady Google Drive link. Finally, after proving to them that the newest app didn't magically fix it, they allowed me to get support on the actual camera and not just the app. They refused to acknowledge the problem and blamed me. They wanted me to do hours of troubleshooting in this exact process, record videos, send it to them and prove that it wasn't working. Nothing about what they wanted me to do would have provided them technical information. It was just me working for another couple hours to PROVE to them that the issue exists. Then, they might start troubleshooting. I have never seen a software issue that was so difficult to get any support for. Every since then, I have directed everyone I know away from your company. Even if this issue were to eventually get fixed, it's not worth it because they truly don't care. Their refusal to support the latest version of their app that they have available should be illegal.

Here are all the issues with this device, but really the #1 is enough of a reason to give it 1 star. 1. Requires a separate app, no way to integrate with Armcrest cloud. As such, I ended up never using it. This alone makes it a 1 star product. 2. The screws were cheap. I had to use graphite and special drivers to get them out, and had to drill one out (when removing). 3. Chime integration box was very large and I could not situate it in the existing chime enclosure and have the enclosure latch closed. It looked very bad, but thats how it was for over a year. 4. Viewing angel was very limited so had to buy a bunch of down angle devices to actually be able to view anything useful. It ended up making the device hang off the wall so far that anyone could just rip it off. I removed them and just accepted that it would be recording the street and sky. I guess its my fault for not researching the device more, I just assumed an Armcrest camera could integrate with all my other cameras. The device I replaced it with did not have any of these issues.

On top of having to pay additional money for duties which should have been factored in with the shipping costs, making my package that was paid for expedited become non-expedited when it took me 3 days to find out there was even money owing, when I got the item it doesn't work with AMCREST Cloud because the serial number isn't long enough for the app. It works with AMCREST smart home app but I needed it to work with the cloud app because in Canada the AMCREST smart home app is not available in Alexa, just the AMCREST cloud app is available, which makes this doorbell a waste of money and something AMCREST could have cautioned Canadian customers about. It isn't that difficult to make your product available in Canada btw. Amazon may have a hold on you somehow but there are ways around it.

Just installed the AD110 yesterday and we love it. Our old farm house is on a busy highway and we get a lot of packages left in plain sight. Added this camera and tied it in with our Blue Iris setup. Installed the app on my phone, my wife's phone, and my son's phone. The integration with Blue Iris is flawless and the Amcrest app for two-way communication is smooth. Dinged it one star for two reasons: 1) We have a front porch light that will prevent the camera from going into night vision mode. There is no workaround for it as the light is in the yard. Covering up the back of the light darkens the entire yard which makes it impossible to see outside through the window, so it's a lose/lose. Would be nice if we could schedule night vision mode like I can do with my Amcrest 4K cameras. 2) Since this house is so old, running wires is a huge PITA. I learned today that the AD1-Chime, which is a wireless chime kit, is discontinued. That's a bummer because the house is also very large and having a wireless chime on the other end of the house would be a nice feature. Justin V. was helpful in answering my questions about the AD1-Chime and I hope y'all bring it back or make an alternative.

After my second attempt for support 2 weeks offline, after updating my password etc., trying everything on the App... my second agent Shelly P was awesome and patient even with my horrible frustrated attitude, she calmly walkd me thru a hard reset, deleting my device, scanning and adding my device again, and supporting my every step of the way until my camera was back on line... she was so sweet and patient. We are using the video doorbell in our business office/shop for the rear door when we receive large trucking deliveries. The quality of the camera is far superior to the RING product. We tried interfacing with a conventional style door chime & it has not been successful, so we are going to purchase the AD1 Chime to make this an easy installation! We are very satisfied with the Smart Home System!

I do my research before buying any product. This doorbell camera was well-rated and reviewed. The biggest complaints were software related and now having owned it for about 6 months I have to agree. The best hardware in the world is worthless if the software does not work. DO NOT buy Amcrest to hook up to Alexa. When we first install everything worked as expected for a couple of weeks. I have working with technical support since November. Phone support is worthless, keep asking you to hold then tell you to contact the support team and let them know about your problems. So although I just spent 5 minutes explaining my problem, it is not their job to pass your concerns on to their technical support team, WHAT!?! If they wanted me to only interact via email then why give me a phone number to call them. The phone calls I placed were all answered by an off-shore call center, a really worthless waste of time. Email support has been much better but they have only asked me to repeat steps I tried on my own but I retried them exactly as they suggested with the same software failures. When we first hooked up this doorbell camera to Alexa it worked, we could see the image for a few weeks later it stopped showing the image. We have reset everything to factory default three times and still when you ask Alexa to show the doorbell she says, "Ok" followed "Doorbell is unavailable, please check network." As others have noted the Amcrest App seems to be the only way to access the doorbell and its function seems to work ok, we can see the camera on the App but we bought this to use with Alexa. The last troubleshooting request from support came on Dec 1st - ask me to check the voltage at the doorbell. I bought the Amcrest power adapter instead of trying to reuse the old doorbell's transformer, so I was pretty sure the voltage would be correct, plus it works fine with their App, I have to assume this is a software issue with their Alexa skill, but I unmounted to doorbell from the door jam and measured the voltage as requested, 17.91 DC Volts, solid with no fluctuations which I responded on Dec 20th and here we are January 10th with still no reply from support. I get the feeling support is slow responding hoping their software team will come out with a fix. Really disappointed in this product. I had high hopes, I am sure you will too if you decide to buy this doorbell camera but if you plan to connect it to Alexa save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere, I know am now looking for a different solution. My 95-year-old friend for whom I installed this product six months ago still can not see who is at the door without going down a flight of stairs. Amcrest, STOP over-promising and under-delivering. So disappointed by a product with so much potential. Past my return period so now I have an expensive doorbell with a useless camera.

I?ve actually had this camera for about 7 months now, and I have very mixed feelings. The Good: Installation and setup was pretty easy for me. I enjoy the app that is used for viewing/controlling the camera, although it would be nice if it was the same app that I used already for my other wired & wireless security cameras at the house. The daytime video quality is clear and once I set up the motion areas, the recordings sent to the SD card were good quality. I enjoy the way notifies you of motion at the door and how it organizes the recordings. The Bad: This camera needs excellent wifi connection to work well. I struggled for months with it dropping connection to the internet even with my very fast home wifi router being in the adjacent room only 20 feet away. I worked with customer service a number of times only to come to the same conclusion, them telling me my router needed to be closer to the camera. I finally got a nice Netgear wifi extender that is located just inside the house next to the doorbell camera and it seems to have solved the issue. I was just very surprised to have this issue when I have an Amcrest wifi camera on the other side of the house that has always worked flawlessly before this. Overall, I?ve enjoyed this camera when it works as I need it to. If the wifi worked as well as my other wifi camera, it would be a 5 star for me.

Just installed mine a couple of days ago. Had a SkyBell previously, but had hard time connecting to SkyBell remotely. I can connect to this one remotely (away from house) consistently so far. However, the skybell has a better/wide picture I think. My doorbell sits in a very small porch with walls on either side of it so the light comes from the center. So anyone who comes up to the doorbell is dark because of shadows. Skybell seems to be able to deal with that better than this one can. I had to tweak the picture settings in the View Pro app and hopefully that will work in both daylight and at night. When setting up motion detection zones, it can seem to be a bit hit or miss. It works, but it takes some tweaking. Speaking of detections, the notifications are kind of hit or miss as well. Overall, it is decent, but maybe you should spend the money and get the newer one.

Well, I finally got my Amcrest doorbell camera. I've had my Amcrest DVR and HD cameras for over a year now and have been really happy with them so I wanted the doorbell camera to match. I didn't need 4K as the 1080 has worked just fine and I must say, this doorbell camera has a great picture. I did have some weird connectivity issues after the first day but did a reset and started over fresh. No issues since. I can live view the doorbell and my other cameras with the View Pro app or view recordings and change settings with the Smart Home app. Both are easy to use but the View Pro likes to crash the first time I open it. As for the doorbell camera specifically, installation was quick and easy using my existing chime and power supply. The picture is great and it's easy to use when speaking with someone at the door. I highly recommend not just the doorbell camera but their other products, too!
