Disappointed
I've had this Amcrest ASH47-W 4MP WiFi Outdoor PT camera for about 6 to 8 months now. Here are the issues that I found with this camera. And some issues may not be a concern for others.
1. Camera doesn't have backlight compensation. If placing the camera outdoors, under an overhang of some type or on a porch with an overhang, everything under the overhang will be too dark to see clearly, and the outdoor area that is not under the overhang in the sun, can be easily washed out when trying to adjust the picture to compensate for the dark areas under the overhang. Leaving parts in view of the camera very dark and unable to see clearly. And the night time lights on the camera will never come on, under this type of scenario for the dark areas. This cameras video picture should be fine without any type of overhang over the camera and without the overhang within view of the camera's lens. But this camera does not have a Zoom function, to zoom in past of the overhang area. I've tried adjusting all picture options, but this camera just can't compensate for a low light area and a sunny area at the same time.
2. The tracking is very slow at times, maybe 50% of the time. If someone is walking by at a fast pace, or even sometimes at a slower pace, the camera will be recording behind the person trying to catch up, and not recording the actual person. And sometimes the camera won't follow the person all the way to catch up to the person.
3. When reviewing a video recording, with the sound on to listen, the mechanics of the camera tracking system is louder than the audio recording of the person that you're trying to listen too. Drowning out parts of the persons conversation.
4. Audio recordings also seems to be somewhat garbled most of the time. Not very good audio, especially with the loud mechanical noises that the camera makes when tracking.
5. This camera is advertised as a PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera, but it is not. It does not have a Zoom function. It only can Pan and Tilt.
Maybe a firmware update could fix some of these issues, but I won't be buying this camera again until these issues are addressed.

Amcrest Camera dead on arrival
Device arrive defective (non-functional). Device will not boot past flashing red. I have reached out to Amcrest (who shipped it) to get it replaced but no one has responded so far. Very dissapointed that no quality control was done before shipping to ensure the product was operational. Very dissapointed so far in Amcrest's customer support.

30 days later, I haven't received the Amcrest product ordered. I asked for a refund and now only receive emails to review what was never shipped according to USPS tracking.

Great Camera, lousy customer service
The ASH47 is a great camera, has worked well, so well, I want to install more. However, for the past several months, not a vendor, including Amcrest, have any in stock. In fact, seems like any camera remotely similar to the ASH47 configuration no longer exist. My gripe with AMCREST, they don't answer inquiries about the camera or when it will be back in stock, if ever. I was able to contact a few live bodies in sales, but that was like talking to asparagus and expecting an intelligent answer. So, at the point of removing the AMCREST cameras I do have, and going with a different vendor to have a system of compatible security cameras.

Overall, this seems to be a well-built camera for the price. Setup was easy with the app and only took a few minutes to get the camera working. I own several Amcrest cameras and in general I find build quality to be good and the end user experience to be positive. The built-in speaker seems to be loud enough for my needs. The one minor complaint I would have about this camera is when you toggle the light from off to on, it appears you have to toggle the light from on to strobe and then off. I do not see a way to toggle the light from off to on and then off without selecting strobe option first. It seems a bit inconvenient that you have to go through the strobe mode to turn the light off after turning it on.

Second one of this style camera that I have bought and I am still loving them. This one is in my garage looking outside when the garage is open, this camera is so clear that I can see all the way across the street clearly. With the app, the pan and tilt feature is so easy. For the price the quality of these cameras is unbelievable.

Video is nice, but major design flaw
The color night video is nice, but there is a lot of loss-of-function compared to older models. No point and click PTZ function on web interface (The center button can't be activated on the PTZ control), no digital zoom, no snapshots from event triggers, only video recording, no nas support. There appears to be newer firmware available on the support site, but the download link results in an ACCESS DENIED error. What a mess. I suggest skipping this model until their software improves. The major design flaw, however is their power supply. The have moved to a 12v - 2amp power scheme from their older models. The problem is, their power brick is designed exactly so it will not fit in a standard outdoor weatherproof outlet. Outdoor outlets and recessed into a weather-proof box. The brick is elongated and the prongs are such that it is turned to the side when inserted. Unbelievable and frustrating.

Disappointment over lack of NAS server capabiliy. That kind of overshadowed the other features. Motion detection. At night detected neighbor comming home on motorcycle at night from 100 feet away.Detected flag waving in breeze, leaves waving in breeze even a small bird building nest on flower pot on porch. a lot of the false positives were eliminated by defining zones. Even more false positives were eliminated by setting Human detection only. still had false positives. the ability to PTZ was a little clunky. My wife tried to just swipe her finger across the screen expecting the screen to shift with here swipe. Pushing the small arrows for every small portion that the camera moved was a little challenging until you got used to it. Because of the lack of NAS capability I would not recommend this for a small business but would work well for most home users that arent into the technical aspects such as I am. I would enclose some pictures, except the only way I could get the pictures off the camrea was to remover the SDHC card are read directly from it in my Computer. I did enclose on video but I had to convert if the .DAV format to MP3 a format that I could send to my wife to view. .DAV does not view outside your program unless you have the proper software.

NO USER MANUAL
NO PDF OF USER MANUEL. How does anyone know what they are buying if they have nothing to tell them what this camera can do or how to set it up. Amcrest evidently does not want you to know what you are buying. All of their other cameras has a USER MANUEL IN PDF ON THEIR WEBSITE BUT NOT THIS CAMERA.
