This is a moderately easy to setup product that does what it says. The basic features and remote viewing capability (through an Apple or Google mobile app) combined with optional cloud service recording make this a great choice for anyone wanting a DIY security solution. Camera captures crisp 1080p video, including in low light situations (using Infrared LEDs). Does not require a deep understanding of networking or other technologies to successfully deploy. However, for those wanting a more control, the camera supports more advanced options such as recording to a NAS, use of a secondary stream, motion detection, masking, etc.). The support forums are monitored regularly and most questions are answered within 24 hours. The company also posts YouTube videos to help with camera setup and support.

I purchased three Amcrest ProHD Outdoor 1080P WiFi Wireless IP Security Bullet Camera - IP66 Weatherproof, 1080P (1920TVL), IP2M-842 (Black) and ran them through my laptop and NVR. The cameras give crystal clear resolution and are sturdy and well made. They provided the solution that will protect me and my family.

Super simple to set up, located outside my home pointed at my front door, just had to initialize it and then mount it on my pump house. Having the ability to view the camera wherever I may be with my smart phone is fantastic! This is just one of the four I will be adding to my home surveilance system. I also bought a Amcrest NVR 4 camera system with a WD 2TB hard drive and a refurbished Acer monitor. So for about $250 I have everything set up the way I want it, now the only drawback is that this wireless camera runs over Wifi with only 2.4 GHZ and not having the ability of running at 5 GHZ will pixelate the image, but the recording turns out fine. All in all, worth the money especially when you need cameras located away from your home and having the ability of wireless compared to PoE. Also, with the email function you are notified whenever there is motion detected and a snapshot of what the camera is seeing. Definitely will recommend this to anyone.

we set up 7 cameras, the first 2 went up in 5 minutes, easy peasy! The remaining 5 took over 6 hours ON THE PHONE with cust support. Now that we have them all up, most of them do not work. Our upload speed is not fast enough. (NOT Amcrest's Fualt) We live in a monopolized cable area, fastest speeds we can get is 100Mb down and 5Mb up, EACH camera taves 2-3Mb UP.... this means all the cameras fight eachother for the data going "UP" and we get one or two cameras on then it drops and is replaced by another... it's terrible. i do not know why amcrest sent me this review as we're still talking about how to correct this.

we initially bought 1 camera and once we got it working with a little help from Tech support who were great and friendly. We purchased a second one and for the money they are really good. They did go offline once and we had a hard time getting them back but once again Tech support to the rescue and they got them up and running in no time and have no issues since. Picture is clear even the night vision . Would recommend this camera.

I do not like this camera. It is hard to manage files to the ftp server because it relates a folder for each day and hour. The night vision video looks llike a ghost image very hazy. It is difficult to understand options as there are very few definitions of what the settings meaning in the documentation. The manual record, and motion detect record go to different locations. It is functioning, but had I known the quality of night vision video I would not have purchased it. I can code a cleanup script which the novice probably could not do. The PC_NVR option for recording motion alarms did not function for me, but then again it could be a documentation issue. I am a web site administer by. Trade soI am familiar with the many ways to setup the camera.I ended up setting up IIS on my windows 10 pc and setting up an ftp server for the camera to write to. I will not put any of my data in the "CLOUD" which is nothing more than someone else's server for which I cannot inspect their security.

The quality of the cameras is very good. The video is also very good, especially for wireless. I do think more than two or three cameras is a bit much for wireless WiFi.

The IP2M-842 is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a security camera. My criteria for a security camera: 1. easy setup, 2. WIFI, 3. phone app for viewing, 4. camera clarity, 5. night vision, 6. motion detection, 7 email alerts, 8. local recording with playback, 9. good tech support. I almost didn’t buy the camera because of a review that said the motion detection was useless because it was too sensitive. It turns out you have quite a bit of control over that. The camera view is set up in a grid and you can control individual sections of that grid with various sensitivities (4 different ones or turn it off). I agree that the default settings are very sensitive. I got 162 false alerts the first night/morning. It takes a little time to get the sensitivity right, but now I only get a few false alerts each morning, caused by tree shadows. And I always get one when the camera goes from black & white (night) to color (daytime). Would be nice if they would fix that. I contacted the tech support with a bogus question just to test them out. They answered quickly, and I didn’t get sent through a maze of automatic messages that drive me nuts. The fellow was probably in India but spoke good English and knew the product well. The recording to a local drive was the most difficult task to set up, but it works great. They have cloud storage you can view anywhere but it is a subscription.

A previous camera failed so I replaced with a IP2M-842B. I also installed Blue IRIS software and the camera is working fine. It is not clearly understood in the online specs, but this camera does have a hardwired Ethernet port which you can use as an alternative to the WiFi connection. (But it is not Power Over Ethernet [POE]). The wiring from the camera is now concealed up through the mounting bracket providing a more secure installation. The integral mounting bracket worked fine for my installation which has the camera is installed on the horizontal surface of my home's soffit.

It is easy to set up with the setup program or just by going directly to the IP that is set by DHCP. The unit was fine to install and the picture quality was good. I use Blue Iris and it was flawless setup for that as well.

This is my second Amcrest camera and I'm very pleased with the ease of setup and overall operation of each. I did have a small issue with the first one but after a call to tech support the issue was resolved. Overall a outstanding product and money well spent. Thanks Amcrest.

I just completed installation of my third Amcrest camera for my home security system. The quality of the cameras and ease of installation and setup is fantastic. Amcrest is definitely the place to buy security cameras. I have one bullet camera and two dome cameras and the resolution is amazing. I will be adding another camera in the near future and I will look no further than Amcrest.

As with any new device. It has bugs and rough edges that need a firmware or 2. The camera video feed flickers and needs to be rebooted every couple days. There also is the issue that setting don't always like to save. I have no dought that things will be resolved in the future, but for now I would would wait.

5 years ago after our garage got broken into, I installed a hardwired outdoor CCTV/DVR security camera system. The average, reasonable priced system out there was only 480(SD). WiFi HD cams were either hard to come by or very $$$. Today, the 1080 Wifi ProHD IP cams from Amcrest are magnitudes better in resolution and very reasonably priced. I now have 6 of the Amcrest/Foscam Wireless HD IP cams (Indoor and outdoor bullet versions) running into BlueIris SW on a PC that runs 24/7/365. Setup is a simple and reliability has been excellent. Two things to be aware of - you do need a good WiFi signal for these cams to work with reliably and you will also need a powerful router to handle all that HD streaming data. My old router was continuously dropping cameras off the network when I added my last 2 (for a total of 6) Since my router upgrade the camera(s) have been rock solid. The IR has been impressive - much better than the IR on my old Hardwired DVR system. Interesting to note here is that my old system used 12V and so do the Amcrest Bullet Cams. (The indoor units use 5V) I simply removed the old 480 Camera bullet camera and plugged in the new Amcrest HD bullet cam in to the power lead and mounted it in place of the old one - Done!

Love the cameras thus far. Planning to buy at least one more outside camera but need to research info on how to record the video to an external hard drive or NVR. If that's possible, I also plan to procure 2 2 indoor cameras with the 2 way talk feature. I don't mind outdoor video being in the cloud but don't want my indoor video there. Thus far, really satisfied with the purchase. Video quality is good.

Amazing quality and very easy to set up. For the price, they cannot be beat. Only suggestion would be in the description they say they zoom. Not the case with mine. There is no way to zoom except as you would on a phone or computer photo. I do not think that the Camera actually has a built in zoom feature.
