IP2M-842E 1080P PoE

Very nice camera. Reasons I bought this camera include that it is compliant with ONVIF standards, works well with VLC player (Linux and Win7), Ivideon Server/Client (Linux and Win7), and Xeoma (Linux). The only complaint I have is the "plug-in" required for AmcrestView to work does not work with the new Firefox. Been over 1 1/2 years since firmware was updated. I will buy again from Amcrest. Very nice camera. IP2M-842E Review

Got one installed 10 months ago and another one just 2 weeks ago. The first one went through winter but was installed under roof overhang so it's basically protected from rain and snow . The new is on an open wall. Both work fine for my monitoring purpose using our iphones. I still have to add a recorder and storage. I plan on adding more cameras to include indoor units.

Great but with some minor issues with its app and mounting holes

The PTZ WIFI camera works great. Two shortcomings that made me take out one star. First, the FDT View app's (iOS) PTZ control cannot do fine movements as the gap between each move stroke is quite big. The web browser interface can do a much better job for fine movements. Secondly, the holes on the mounting panel are not appropriately positioned. In the product picture, there are four holes at the four corners of the panel. The one I received has only three holes with one hole in the bottom middle position, which is right behind the camera housing unit. This makes the mounting job extremely difficult as you need a special drilling tool to drive a screw for that hole.

Amcrest POE outdoor camera.

This is the first Amcrest camera I have purchased. The camera arrived on time as promised. The enclosed instructions indicated that there was one Cat5 cable included with the camera, but there was no cable in the box. The camera was easy to set up using either the Android phone app or a laptop computer. I tried both methods as a test. My only comment would be intended as an improvement rather than a complaint. Amcrest would be wise to offer a variety of lens choices or better yet, a varifocal lens for fine tuning the field of view. I recommend this camera and plan to order several more to replace my existing cameras.

Best camera on the market

I have compared other home cameras, they are made of plastic and cost almost twice as much, Amcrest cameras are made of steel and produce the best picture I have ever seen both day and night. There customer support is also the best I have ever experienced, I had a few problems and they fixed it in a matter of minutes. Setting up the camera that less the five minutes. I am very happy with this product, the software is very easy to use, I am on my fourth camera with plans to order more. You will never go wrong with Amcrest, and no I was not paid to say this. Most of The time you see negative reviews it's about time people wrote positive ones also

Works Great

Nice resolution, fine product. The only minor issue is when hooked up to NVR you still need to use tool like IPConfig to talk directly to camera to set the time (and get everyone on the same page). This might be more the NVR’s issue than the camera? Would buy another one, does the job well.
