3 years is all I got out of it
After using it for 3 years without problems, all of the sudden it stopped switching to night viewing. Yes, I know there is a setting, it is set correctly. It works fine during the day but can't "see" anything at night. I have an alternate IR flood light so the IR light isn't the problem. I believe its the IR filter not allowing the camera to see IR light nor allow the camera sensor to be more sensitive at night. I bought the camera through amazon and all they said was sorry it's outside the 1 year warranty. So I guess, sorry Amcrest, I'm not spending $160 every 3 years for a new camera.

Do Not Buy
This camera is no more than a fancy motion detector. Will not record unless manually turned on . Will not record when there is a motion detected. Does create an event but will not record it. Totally useless !!!!!!

This camera can also autofocus and is reasonably priced.
A higher zoom performance would be even better.

Ideal Size, weight, Price/ 2MP Quality ratio.
Great price for PTZ small footprint camera with more than adequate 2MP video quality for surveillance image record/capture. Live view popped right up on Blue Iris (which I like...until a competitive Linux application arrives so I can completely get rid of all Microsoft & Windows applications).

It's good, not great
Have been using for about two months or so. The functionality is all there as far as being able to pan tilt and zoom from my phone or tablet. I especially like that it can be used with the View Pro App. However I cannot seen to hear sound through it. I can hear sound through the Cloud App but it is a weird sound that seems to be coming from the camera and not from the surrounding area. Also, I'm a bit disappointed that it does not have a speaker built-in. That's my fault for not seeing the "Speaker Sold Separately" portion in the description, but when inquiring about it, no one can give me a good answer as to what kind of speaker I can use for it. I like to keep an eye on my dog in the backyard with it and maybe talk to him with it, but alas, no luck there. Another thing that I am a bit disappointed on is that I cannot setup way points on the View Pro app or any other one except the Surveillance pro app on my computer. It would be nice to have this functionality as well to quickly get from one spot to the other. Lastly, it seems that getting the recordings on the View Pro App just don't seem very intuitive. I just want it to records when it detects motion, but it seems to record all the time even though I have it set to record with motion only. On the upside, the picture and the night vision on it are great as well as the zoom. Overall it is a nice PTZ, but a little disappointed with the features and app feature set.

Biggest waste of a Lot of Money
I bought these for the night vision - it even says it has night vision - what a total waste of money - can only see the bugs flying in front of the camera. So much for security.

IP2M-866W outside PTZ Dual-band camera
Not difficult to setup. Dual-band (2.4/5.0) terrific feature, 5GHz band most efficient for streaming video from multiple cameras around the outside of the home. Integrated nicely with my SecuritySpy software, supporting both ONVID and Amcrest profiles perfectly. PTZ good; but needed to mount flush on wall, not from above on ceiling - mounted above garage on siding with logo upside down to get video to tilt down and pan left/right with good view of sky to record occasional stormy weather. Signal strength good. IP Config and Amcrest Surveillance Pro software good for setup adjustments and reconfigurations. Works on my iMac with MacOS 10.15.7 - older version did not support video images, only supported all text settings. Image quality is very good, and comes with lots of settings to adjust picture quality and video functions (both auto and manual controls make for lots of flexibility). Overall a good camera option.

Limited PTZ Outdoor Options
Purchased 2 IP2M-866EW cameras to replace IP2M-841EW cameras that I had mounted under eaves of roof for 2+ years. I prefer Amcrest product designs and quality of performance and have been waiting for a replacement for the 841 cameras since they are not designed for outdoor use. Most security cameras are stationary (non-PTZ) and their are plenty of options for this application. However, PTZ is an excellent feature to have when notifications are enabled on Smartphone app. Amcrest PTZ outdoor camera options (with PoE) are very limited. In addition, alternate mounting solutions would be a plus for the 866 camera. I enjoy Amcrest products as a whole (I have several 841’s , 866’s & a doorbell camera) and appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback on your products!
