A friend recommended these to me after installing in his home. These are performing as I expected and give high quality images. My friend installed them for me, but watching him I saw that they were easily married with my wifi, but he knows his way around electronics. For the quality and pricing, I highly recommend.

It is an excellent product, I have the IP2M-841W version and if there is a great improvement in terms of speed, although the characteristics are similar, I can say that it maintains the full functionality of the previous model but with improvements, especially in image, connectivity with networks 5Ghz, that makes the response speed benefit, in terms of materials it is still a robust product with good quality, it is appreciated that the power cable is much longer. A great advantage that I find is that it still maintains access via web for its visualization and configuration, other brands only allow you to manage it with the mobile application and sometimes this is very complicated since you do not have as much freedom to manage the configuration and it limits you too much, so Amcrest quite complies with that robustness that few systems have on the market. I have it integrated with a Synology equipment and it works very well, the only problem I find is perhaps the Amcrest Pro application for mobile, it continues to have the same interface problems such as not maintaining the configuration of the views, not being able to rename the channels correctly, Failure to add the product at times you cannot find it. Another missing feature is the integration with Alexa, the skill is not available even in all regions and not for all products, that would leave good support for products purchased previously and those that are not yet so obsolete but are still on the market. . In general I give it 5 stars because it integrates very well with my configuration with Synology but outside of this I would rate it 4 stars for mobile applications.

Picture quality is good. I like being able to tilt the camera lens to where I need it as it is very convenient. I leave this in my basement where I've had a couple water leaks so instead of going outside to go down there, I just need to open up the app and check on it from there!

The camera comes nicely packaged and is protected to prevent any damage during shipment. The package has a charging brick, micro-usb, mounting hardware, mounting bracket, lan wire, paperwork and the camera. Camera: - The form factor is decent considering the camera has pan and tilt - the picture quality is decent - the camera can be easily connected to the app and wifi (although very 1st time I had issue which I will explain in the section below) - has a lan port and comes with micro sd card slot as well - the camera makes slight noise while using the pan and tilt feature - which I can hear from 2 feet away as well App: - I have the Amcrest Smart home app however I was not able to add the camera in that app and had to install Amcrest View pro after which I was able to add the device (however this is lame) - While adding the device, you can scan the bar code on the bottom of the camera and it recognizes the device which is convenient and goes into add device wizard - In the setup menu you need to be on 2.4G wifi else the wifi setup will fail (you can choose between ethernet and wifi setup after you scan the device) - In the wifi setup I provided the camera user name password for admin account and the wifi network password. I got a notification that camera was added however Live view failed as the system complained that it cannot connect. On debugging further it seemed like Username and possword doesnt match however the system doesnt tell you if that is the Admin account issue or the Wifi issue. I reset the device and added the camera again - this time however I did not change the Admin password (do not change the admin password) - The camera will be added and you can go to LiveView. This is when app will prompt you to change the camera password. When I did that the camera password was changed and I was able to check the live feed from camera - The app features are decent and you can tweak soe settings. The app also gives a wizard to walk you through the app settings to control the camera - The pan and tilt screen is not smooth and the camera pans and tilts very quickly - The app skews the live view footage in Portrait mode however it is fine in landscape

Helpdesk in India was unable to help, suggested we use a laptop. Made no sense. Android phone needed to turn wifi OFF. Took hours to figure out the simple solution!!

4 stars overall. good HD quality, but I did notice less contrast in low light conditions. Pans and tilts very smoothly. The app is easy to use. I would recommend this camera at this price range.

This is a great camera for the price point. Compared to similar cameras at the same price point, this has much better picture quality over 1080p, the exposure compensation is better allowing you to see images on bright screens even in dark environments. The audio quality is also good, whereas other cameras might cut out low db noises this camera keeps a consistent audio recording even for lower db noises. The web app works in Chrome, Firefox and most browsers allowing you to set up, view the camera's live mode easily without plugins! Works well with Synology Surveillance Station but it does require you to get the exact model number otherwise some settings will not work. Home Assistant is currently a manual config via YAML but not too hard, PTZ works with assigned button overlays. Vera/Ezlo setup was a bit harder requiring a setup with a URL instead of the traditional add camera pages. Firmware updates are not very intuitive with this camera. It would be nice if the web interface or the app was able to run the update without having to match model numbers and download zip files hoping that you have all the correct information. I also feel like the model numbering scheme could use some simplicity, might move more units if it was easier to remember. The iOS app also needs updating, it feels a bit dated, the aspect ratios get squashed, the PTZ is only swipe not a button which is helpful for incremental movements, also the settings don't seem to stay put. Otherwise, it's a great camera. I'd love to see built-in POE capability in a newer version.

Setup was easy and straightforward. It took longer than expected for it to transmit a sound and join the network, but I was patient, and it eventually connected. The angle of view is wide, which allows me to see more than some of the older cameras that were not as wide. I tried it both in the garage and in a shed 60 feet from the access point, and it worked in both locations. The garage is on the opposite side of the house from the access point. At further distances, it seems like it takes a while to reconnect after power cycling (like several minutes) when 5GHz network is enabled. On the 2.4 GHz spectrum, it would connect right away. At first, I found my access point would force 5 GHz devices to only use the 5 GHz spectrum, but even after disabling this setting so devices could negotiate whatever they preferred, it still went to the 5 GHz when it was enabled. At 60 feet, the mainstream (i.e. the HD one) seemed to freeze and hang periodially, but the sub stream works great. As far as using as an indoor camera as intended much closer to the access point, both the main stream (HD) and sub stream had a smooth RTSP stream.

This camera does not have PIR motion sensing and as a result gives constant false alarms as shadows move across the room. There is no practical way to set sensitivity and threshold to both eliminate the false alarms and also actually detect real motion. Virtually every user of these products have expressed frustration with this limitation. I would think it would be a simple and inexpensive fix to build in a PIR. Any chance you will ever do this? I don't remember having these kind of problems with my old Foscam cameras.

The quality of this camera, day or night, is excellent. I have three of them. Set up was easy and quick. The problem is that the IR went out in one of them, and I'd say somewhat quickly. While the camera is over two years old, its time online has been less than a year. Unfortunate and costly.

This is a pretty good camera that could be great. Too many features described in the user manual do not exist or do not work. Local storage does not work on Mac. Nor does Email unless you want to use Yahoo. Even with Yahoo, you have to get a special application password from Yahoo which the manual does not tell you about.

The -721 is an older model, not even 1080p (720), I'm sure it was all the rave in it's day. This upgrage to the IP4M-1051, kicks me into the modern age for what I need for my security needs! More powerful resolution, higher mega-pixels (1258x1520), WI-FI, HD, and same foot print, so no space issues! With Amcrest's great customer support, I'm sure this will serve my security needs for years to come.

Really liked this camera, but unfortunately it started intermittently powering off and on. It appears where the DC adapter plugs into the back of the unit is loose and if you wiggle the plug, the camera comes back on but will shut off when the cable moves again. Unfortunately just a few months past the 1 year warranty. Other than that, it has been a good device and provides great quality video.

I bought this camera to replace a baby monitor($250+). This camera works 10x better. The picture quality is a lot better. You can actually see our kids face to see if he is asleep or not. Has a lot more features then the monitor, alerts for motion or sound to see if they woke up in the middle of the night. We have an old tablet on our nightstand that we use to watch him w/. The default is OK, if you want more features you can try other apps that this camera works with. I use Tinycam Pro. It is a little more refined and you can access the camera’s outside of your home network. Just takes a couple of extra steps to set up. The wife is preggers and I plan on buying a second one for their bedroom as well. Instead of paying another 200+ for a dedicated babycam you can get this for ? of the price. Then repurpose it for when you no longer need it for a baby camera.
