I just installed 5 of these cameras. The picture is fantastic and the 4x zoom works well.

This 4K camera is a nice upgrade from the 1080p (2K) bullet camera I have, basically doubling the resolution I had making it easy to identify people walking down the sidewalk, watching package deliveries, and identifying makes of cars that drive by. The night vision does a better job than the bullet camera this is replacing, illuminating edges of the video much better and more evenly. Like another has reported, I did notice that the IR light can create a light hue on the top of the video which is caused by the IR reflection from the dome. I found this could be resolved by cleaning the dome and lowering the brightness of the RI light in the Camera settings. The wide-angle lens on this camera allows me to put the camera under the corner eave at the house and cover my front door along with my entire front yard and driveway, but unlike my bullet camera I have, it has an optical zoom. Using the optical zoom, I could actually read my house number on the mailbox. Because of that optical zoom, I’m considering picking up another one these for my in-law’s property to keep an eye on a barn which is a short distance from their house. I love power over Ethernet (POE)! I have had good luck with wireless cameras, but I have a very busy wireless network and wanted to ensure there are no signal losses or bandwidth issues so POE is my preferred choice. Running a POE cable is just as easy as running a power cord from my perspective so I highly recommend it. There are a lot of configuration settings that can be changed to meet your needs. I have a preference for high frame-rates to capture fast moving objects, so I was happy to find configuration options that allowed me to adjust to a resolution, frame-rate, and bit-rate. Setup and configuration take a little technical know-how. I paired my cameras with an Amcrest network video recorder (NVR). I setup motion detection on the camera and configured my NVR to only record motion which allows me to save on disk space, and easily find events when playing back video though Amcrest Surveillance Pro. The free Amcrest Surveillance Pro software is definitely better than other software I have used in the past. Long story short, I am rather happy with this 4K camera, not to mention the other Amcrest products I have purchased for myself and relatives over the years. Best of luck in your surveillance project

This camera does not have a motorized Pan/Tilt, but it does have motorized zoom allowing you to remotely zoom straight ahead. I have a preference for high framerates to capture fast moving objects, so I was happy to find configuration options that allowed me to adjust to a resolution with 25 frames per second and 10k bitrate.
