These Camera work "ok" until upgrading the Firmware. Now the WEb interface is "AWFUL" and the Camera keeps resetting to Default.. NO SUPPORT from AMcrest. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Like everything but motion detection. Great picture and great mobile and PC apps. 8MP has good digital zoom. Optical would be better but there's a cost difference to consider. The motion detection is very frustrating to try and get the camera to only pick up larger targets in night vision. Will alarm all night long on moths and other insects, rain drops, snow flakes, car headlights and lighting. Tried adjusting sensitivity and threshold but could never get it right.

I have wifi camera's...I bought them because i couldn't run a cable...but had power...BEWARE....if they go down you need to run a ethernet cable from the router to the camera to get them back up and running......or climb a ladder and try and scan the device...what ever you do dont paint them and cover that code!....the phone app or computer gui interface is so complicated you are tied to their tech group to set up reinstall...and they are hit or miss....regret not buying the competitors...

I got these to keep an eye out for wild animals in the neighborhood since I have dogs and for any early morning vandalism, which occurs too frequently in my neighborhood. So I wanted 4K cameras with good night vision and a good coverage area to make out any faces or vehicles. So far these have worked out great. I had a professional install them along with cat6 cable. They come with cat5 but I recommend upgrading. The cameras see clearly at night and have great picture. The NVR is good, although I want to upgrade to my own monitoring system later. You do need power to the NVR to send to the cameras so keep that in mind in case of power failures.

Works perfect, set up was a breeze. The app was simple enough to understand and still gave all the features and functions you would expect to see. The construction of the camera is very well built. I was so happy with it that I bought another one for the back of my house a few days after this one came.

We just installed 4 of these cameras outside a new business and they work great. I will say, contrary to other reviews, you can adjust the angle of the cameras as necessary. It takes some doing, but you can modify both the angle and the plane of motion to get the correct view needed. The only complaint I have is that when SSH is enabled, accessing the web interface via HTTPS is MUCH slower than via HTTP (which is the default). Since HTTPS is typically preferred in business environments, it would be nice to have HTTPS as responsive as HTTP.

Integrates easily to the Amcrest NVR, great picture and night time clarity. HOWEVER, they have a single axis of movement which basically means they can only cover an area straight out from the wall it is mounted on. If you want to monitor your garage door and the mounting is parallel to the door, you have to jump through hoops to create the correct static downward view.

I wanted to install a stealthy camera in my garden due to it facing an open field, and this one fit the bill. It currently sits at the corner of the back of my yard, keeping an eye on any activity, and alerting me when any motion’s detected. The field of view is quite impressive with this one that has the 2.8mm lens, night vision works well too. One thing I like, is knowing the you have a lifetime of Amcrest’s support, at no additional cost, which you don’t get with everyone, so it’s a nice touch. The representatives are friendly, and are always willing to help!

Another great Amcrest camera. I have been using this camera for a little over a month and no issues to report so far! Great day and night picture as well. I have many other Amcrest cameras for about 3 years and have not been disappointed yet. Products are great and customer service is fantastic as well. When you purchase this camera, you are investing in the product and company. Setup is very simple through the app. Mounting is easy and the only challenge is running the ethernet cable, but I found it kind of a fun challenge. No complaints on the picture during day or night. Unfortunately I am in the middle of a house move and the camera is packed away. When it arrives at the new house I will be sure to update this review if anything changes about this camera!

I have four IP8Ms. All of them have good picture quality (albeit a bit of lag at 4k). Three of my cameras are mounted under roof overhangs. One of mine was mounted under a deck, with a 1'x1' board over it and a roof 15' over that. The camera under the deck stopped working this winter; disconnecting it from Ethernet to diagnose, I found that the weatherproof Ethernet connector was filled with water, and the connector pins that carry power have corrosion on them. I have not yet determined for certain if the camera died, or if the enclosure fried that port on my PoE switch.

Camera works great and installation using a POE switch was easy. However the mount only sweeps in one plane. That is you can turn the camera left to right or turn it up and down but you cannot do both. If you mount the camera and turn it to the left or right to see your target but discover it is aiming too high you cannot adjust it to look down. If you mount the camera to be able to adjust it up or down, then you cannot adjust it left or right. Not good. They need to make the mount able to adjust to left or right and up and down.

I got two. I would rather have a camera with a tighter angle of view to capture more detail. License plates are not readable from the curb. I can see houses up and down the street, but that doesn't do me any good. I want the detail in front of my house. This is essentially bundling 2MP cameras into one. Anyway, I wish there were more angle options upon purchase. If there was the option for a tighter angle, I couldn't find it. Varifocal camera would be an answer, but price is a lot more. Digital zoom is not the answer.

The auto detection is VERY sensitive and will need some tuning. Recording continuously at 4K (8MP) gives me the ability to zoom in with great detail when I review the recorded video. The POE option is really nice. One cable for both power and network. The Amcrest POE switch is rated for high temps so I have it located in my attic. I have both the POE switch and the NVR connected to my router to isolate the rest of my network from the traffic. The only thing I would change is ordering pre-terminated cables instead of making my own.

This seems like one of many few 4K IP cameras that have what seems to be a 2.8mm lens on there and will give you a really wide field of view. Only drawback is currently the stream2 is 640x480 which isnt anywhere near 16x9, so it causes the image to be skewed, working with support to see if we can get this resolved.
