Mega Hailer more complicated than it's predecessor.

The new Mega Hailer has a lot of bells and whistles as compared to the 1/2 mile hailer. The best feature, by far, is the rechargeable battery. The microphone headset is not very comfortable so I replaced it with a previous headset that came with a small Aker amp. Getting the microphone and amp settings adjusted can be challenging if you are used to just turning the amp on and beginning to broadcast. The transmitter does have a nice feature, as a switch, to adjust if you are switching from someone with a booming voice to a more soft one. I am still getting used to the settings but I am convinced I will love the amp, once I get comfortable with the controls. Be sure not to forget the antenna for the mic. The amp will function without it but you will have to watch your distance closely to avoid losing connectivity. While I am still figuring this out, I do believe it will be a nice piece of equipment. Maybe overpriced a bit but Adorama had a good price

About AmpliVox Mega Hailer

The AmpliVox Mega Hailer Mobile PA System is a 50-watt, totally wireless, highly intelligible, lightweight rechargeable battery powered loudspeaker system for general PA applications in areas that are not equipped with a PA. The horizontally aligned horn broadcasts crystal clear voice announcements and reinforces sound to make it louder to audiences over large wide areas.

Built-in Bluetooth module allows you to wirelessly stream sound from any Bluetooth capable device. The system includes an AC power-cord for continuous operation when connected to a standard AC wall-outlet and facilitates charging the included internal sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries. On a full charge, the system will operate up to ten hours on its SLA batteries' power. During emergencies, the battery powered design sets up quickly and allows you to broadcast emergency information even during power outages.
