Andover Audio Model 1 Record Damping Weight, Walnut

There are many different record weights out there in different price ranges and styles. Many of them are very nice too. But of all of the record weights I have looked at, the Andover weight is hands down the winner for several reasons. It is made from top quality materials. It is very beautiful and elegant. It is like owning a fine piece of jewelry or art for your turntable. It has a beautiful walnut top with the name Andover beautifully carved in the wood. It has a very shiny stainless band around the top and bottom of the weight with a mat stainless center that has very tiny roughness to it making it very easy to grip without slippage. The bottom is made of a very smooth rubber with a hole for the turntable spindle. Another great design feature is that it is a lower profile so it should not interfere with the closing of any turntable dust cover. This weight will add sophistication to any turntable. It makes a cheaper turntable look more expensive and it just adds more sophistication to an expensive turntable. It is very functional adding just the perfect amount of weight on the record. It should provide better sound quality from your record due to making the record more stable on the platter. This weight would make a perfect gift for any turntable enthusiast. I own two of them for my different turntables.

It defintely made a difference in my setup's sound. Deeper bass and less static, which was the main reason for my purchase, to eliminate static. I continue to be impressed with Andovers quality products for my music listening needs!

Purchased the dampening weight to add more control over vinyl behaviors..improved sound, wow and flutter..turntable stability. Works like a charm. I like the professional appearance and the grip from the knurled sides. ??

Received the Andover record weight for a Christmas and from the first use I could hear the difference in the sound of my records. The biggest difference was on the run out. I have a direct drive turntable and the automatic lift was much quieter. Without the Andover record weight the speakers would pickup the audible sound of the tone arm lifting. It is well made and looks great! Love it!

Simple device with some thought put behind it. It looks great. Does the job. Has the feature of a nice grip around the puck to help prevent slipping out of one?s hand when placing it or removing it from the platter. The price was fair considering the competition.

I love the look and quality of this record weight. The knurled finish on the sides makes it easy to handle and adds to the over all look. The wood top also adds to the quality appearance. If I have to say one slightly bad thing about it would be that I really would like it to have the strobe timing marks somewhere on it.
