I wrote a previous review of my black complete Andover setup with the SpinMax, SpinBase, SpinSub and SpinRack. An awesome system. I liked the SpinMax so well that I purchased a white one for a different area of the house. This white SpinMax is hooked up to a Cambridge Preamp and routed to a 110 watt per channel Sony 5.1 receiver. I'm using the turntable with the 5.1 setup which consists of two quality tower speakers, center channel speaker, subwoofer and two rear channel speakers. The receiver simulates 5.1 channels for the turntable. All I can say is "wow". What a great sounding system and this turntable truly performs. It's mechanism is butter smooth. There are not many higher end "automatic" turntables out there. Most are manual. It is just so nice to get top performance from an automatic. I can put my record on, lay down and not have to worry about dozing off. True convenience, fantastic reproduction. What more could you ask for?

I highly recommend this turntable. In fact I find the entire Andover system to be awesome. I own the SpinDeck Max, the SpinBase and the SpinSub. All housed in the SpinRack Audio Stand. This system sounds fantastic without the subwoofer. With the subwoofer it will blow you away for such a compact unit. I was wishing for a high quality automatic turntable and Andover came through with this unit. It is absolutely beautiful and produces beautiful sound with that high quality Ortofon cartridge. It is not easy to find a higher performance automatic turntable these days. Most of your high performance models are manual operating. When this German made beauty surfaced I snapped it up. It is just so convenient to put a record on, lay back and rest and not have to worry about getting up and stopping the turntable. There are a few lower priced automatic turntables out there and they do sound very nice. But after listening to the Andover turntable there is a definite sonic upgrade over those lower priced options. The music is so sharp and defined. I can't say enough about how nice this SpinDeck Max is. I am super pleased with all of my Andover products. If you want a top quality system in a space saving design, this is it.

Listening to music began for me as something my father played on his old reel to reel Sony. The sound filtered through his Sansui Hi Fi. The rich tones, deep bass and brilliant melodies gave my ears a caress that I will always remember. That sound would be tested as I entered work in a skating rink in the late 70's. The sound there was flat and tinny but the place was electrifying. Making my own session lists, stacking the 45's and enjoying the atmosphere led me to appreciate all types of music. Then the late 80's came in force and the vinyl discs were replaced by cd's and cassette tapes. I saw the old 45's & 33's disappear from store shelves. The music began to sound unclear at the beginning of the digital age and that shut down my desire to hear music. Fast forward 20+years and I found myself staring at my grandmothers old Magnavox console stereo with turntable and my desire for listening to Vinyl returned with a vengeance. I started buying used vinyl. I almost stopped again when I realized that the console was a mono turntable.(not stereo) The search began anew and I went through many low end machines with "as usual" lapses in sound quality. The search for a high quality, high value turntable led me to the SpinDeck Max. As a listener, the ability to set and play an album is highly attractive. (can you say AUTO-MATIC) You will not be disappointed by this turntable.Still would like a stackable for my 300+ 45's that isn't a vintage player.

Product arrived quickly, and very securely packaged. Setup was a breeze with my spinbase. Everything functions as advertised, and I'm greatly enjoying it so far!

I recently upgraded to the Andover Audio SpinDeck MAX turntable, and I'm thrilled with the purchase! As someone who cherishes their vinyl collection, this turntable delivers both in performance and aesthetics.
Over the years, the SpinDeck MAX Fully Automatic Two-Speed Turntable has established itself as a sleek, modern, and stylish centerpiece for any audio system. This high-quality, durable turntable is designed for the discerning audiophile who appreciates the superior sound quality of vinyl records.
Engineered with a low-vibration belt-drive system, the SpinDeck MAX features a rubber-isolated DC motor with internal electronic servo regulation. This advanced technology ensures accurate speed, minimal Wow and Flutter, and an inaudibly quiet operation. The belt, which is preinstalled, further enhances the smoothness and precision of the turntable's performance.
One of the standout features of the SpinDeck MAX is its fully automatic operation. With just a flick of the start/stop switch, the turntable takes over. The tonearm automatically lifts from its rest position, starts playing at the beginning of the record, and upon completion, lifts up and returns to rest again. This design also allows for easy switching between turntable speeds of 33 and 45 RPM.
The SpinDeck MAX comes equipped with the highly respected Ortofon OM10 cartridge. This cartridge, featuring an elliptical stylus and a light 1.5g tracking force, is pre-mounted with all tonearm settings pre-adjusted. This ensures optimum performance and a quick, easy setup.
For a complete, compact vinyl playing system, pair your SpinDeck MAX with the SpinBase Speaker. This turntable is compatible with any audio system that has a phono input or phono pre-amp.
Proudly built for Andover in Germany by Alfred Fehrenbacher GMBH, a factory with over 60 years of experience in crafting high-grade turntables, the SpinDeck MAX embodies the perfect blend of tradition and innovation. This turntable is not just a device; it's a testament to the timeless appeal of vinyl records and the enduring quality of expert craftsmanship.
