Amaran 100d Daylight LED Light

A wildly affordable mono-light, flexible with a bowens mount and bright enough for most situations. Trying to find something like this 10 years ago was impossible. I'm stoked that filmmaking tools are becoming cheaper, more accessible, and higher quality.

Feels very sturdy and high quality. I do not have equipment to measure the color accuracy or brightness but works perfectly for my usecase.

It?s exactly what I expected based on the specs and the build quality is fantastic. Not sure why they don?t provide a nylon case for the EPS cradle, that would be the chef?s kiss.

I just received this and set it up so these are my initial impressions: - very solid feeling hardware, good quality mount and bowens mount attachment - light works very well, nice and bright, lots of options for adjusting the intensity, color temp, dimming curve,... Probably more options than I will use - I'd ding it though because of the plastic quality. I have big meaty Shrek hands and have already broke a knob without using much force. Still this light has been a dream so far!

Seems good. I have the 120dii and 300dii. Just needed this light for a permanent solution in my office. Definitely not a great build quality but it?s a great budget value for the cost. Happy I bought it.

This light may surprise you by it's light throw and quality. Being an Aputure budget brand, you can clearly tell the development went into the 'inners'. Be carefully with knobs, don't over tighten and you will be happy. Please remember there is no battery option as of now, so this is a studio or controlled environment light. Great bang for the buck. No complaints. Added a Fresnel and barn doors to control the light. App is decent, though not exactly intuitive, but it does connect every time and the lights are always synced perfectly.

For the price, you can't really beat it. You get the Aputure name, the app experience, and the output. It's also small and lightweight so you're not taking up much space in your room or studio. If this isn't something you are going to constantly travel with, this is a no-brainer.

I make YT vids and I've been using the 400 LED light panels for the longest time and switching to the 100D has been AMAZING. This is so much stronger because it can light up my whole room and the the daylight temperature works very well for my product & talking head shots. I wouldn't need the 100X unless I was color matching to other environments. Totally would recommend this to anyone with a budget over other products!

Color temperature range wide enough to match any light bulb and natural light. The fan is very quiet, but noticeably of a lesser quality than an Aputure 120d ii. Same can be said about the overall build quality. But that's why the Amaran 100x is priced where it is.

Great 100W light. I was previously using low lux battery powered video lights. Due to the limitations of them, I ended up always having to increase the ISO on cameras which adds some graininess. With this light, I'm able to set my ISO to what it should be. No more NR in post. This light is small and reasonably light. It has a bowens type mount which gives you many options for accessories. I do intend to get one of the 200 series lights from Aputure to add into the setup, but with just the 100x, things are so much better. It's color temperature range is 2700K to 6500K. If you can afford higher lux lights, then this would be a great secondary light. This light also opens up battery options since it only draws 100 watts. So far, I'm very happy with the Amaran 100x and would recommend it to anyone needing to move from on-camera style of lights or anyone needing add in a secondary light.

Shockingly good light for the money! This little guy may seem like the little brother of the 120D, but it outperforms it on simplicity and output. No, the build isn't as solid as the 120D, the locking latch is hard plastic and is overall not as sturdy - but for a YouTuber or professional who isn't doing a ton of travel or takes care of their gear, there's no reason why you shouldn't buy 3 of these over one 120D. Hoping to buy more!

I love the form factor! It’s brighter than the Godox 60 that I used to use. The app is really helpful. Just have to find a small case for travel and it’s an awesome light!
